UM Hockey - 2 New Assistant Coaches - 2 Internal Promotions
Michigan head hockey coach Brandon Naurato has added two new assistant coaches for the 2023-24 season.
The university announced Monday the hiring of Mathew Deschamps and Kevin Reiter, while elevating current assistant Rob Rassey to associate head coach. Video coordinator Evan Hall also has been promoted to director of hockey operations.
Reiter - The 41-year-old has served as the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s director of player personnel since 2017. GOALTENDER Coach!
Deschamps - 43, spent the previous three years as an assistant coach for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (been a solid UM pipeline)

Look like some good moves. GO BLUE!
Video coordinator to director of hockey operations sounds like a nice little career path.
Feel like the title is a little misleading, i.e. that the two new assistants were internal promotions (which surprised me, given what had been said previously).
they hired two new assistants and also promoted two internal folks
Yeah, I realized that when I read OP. My point was that, based on the title, I went in thinking that they filled the assistant positions with internal hires...
Who were the other rumoured candidates?

Very strong. Good things will continue to happen over at Yost, I think.
Brandon Naurato is pushing for some Facility Upgrades as well.
thanks for sharing!
It's so cramped there, it's hard to do that in place. I think you'd have to go vertical. Not sure about in Yost's footprint. Maybe build a building over a level or two of parking where parking is now. And how long would that take?
Otherwise you'd have to build in a new area . Not sure where, but starting from scratch has its advantages.
