UConn Suspends Two Players, Other Perspective

Submitted by SysMark on

This is in no way an attempt to minimize our situation, which is serious.  It does however help to keep it in perspective.  The loss of Troy Woolfolk is is something we will recover from as a team, and he will be back next year even better.

With UConn coming in, interesting how things seem to parallel at times.  While the situations are far from comparable, last year mid-season their top defensive back was killed in an on-campus shooting incident which obviously rocked the team and community (I am an M alum and all-blue but live in CT).  They had a rough patch and lost some games after that but rallied toward the end of the season.  We have a few weeks to do the same and I think we will.

I think if you were to ask Randy Edsall if Michigan could come back from this he would have to say..."yeah, they can", and without bitterness.

Let's be thankful for what we have and get everything back on the positive.  Regardless of where I live (I in fact have one child currently in each University - yes we will all be there), I think Michigan comes out strong Sept 4 with a big win.

UConn QB Cody Endres and OG Erik Kuraczea suspended indefinitely for violating team rules i dont believe either was a starter... but it's a hit to their depth

This Wolverine team has had some set backs, but....

WE WILL BE READY FOR UCONN!  WE WILL BE READY FOR EVERY TEAM ON THE SCHEDULE!

This team is ready to fight for respect and put the sports world on notice:

MICHIGAN DOES NOT QUIT, MICHIGAN WILL NOT GO AWAY!

Not that it matters, at this point but, I want to chyme in. I agree w/ what the OP says about the team being able to bounce back, and the parallels to the instances, well said OP.

Howeva, for the last 24 hours I, like probably most of this here community, have been continuously checking this blog for updated information or any news that might ease the pain from the news that broke yesterday.

Then today at work, something happened. I hit a wall. I couldn't be angry anymore. I said to myself "WTF" man... This is the team that we all live and die for every Saturday, The team that we all love. I thought to myself, this doesn't change how I feel about the team, doesnt change my perspective on Wins vs. Losses. Our circumstances defensively didn't change that drastically. Who knows Cullen Christian could be the next Charles Woodson (come on Michigan Hating Gods 1 Time).

What I am reallying trying to say and this is in no way directed at the OP but Enough Already. If you're ready to give up on the season than you truly aren't a real fan. It's time that we all get back to getting amped on "Countdown to Kickoff" videos, or killer MgoDiaries from Misopgon or any other of the fantastic writers we have on this board. Watch some hype videos whatever it takes. The great thing about football is that every season is a new beginning. We have no idea how this season will truly play out and that is exciting.

I know it's a littler different but in 1997 we weren't even ranked in the top 15 in the coaches poll and people then had said that Michigan lost it's aura. People had our program written off after 4 consecutive 4 loss seasons, the first since 1934-1937. But look at what happened then. Now, I am not predicting that this year, but... Let's all be a little more chipper around blog. GO BLUE!

Sorry for the lengthy post

I think their the ones in trouble with players getting hurt or just in trouble. They got a lot of questions of their own and if their QB goes down... third string QB = Mess

I believe he was hurt for a few games.  I also want to say he was benched for a few others due to ineffectiveness, but that could be my memory making shit up.

Frazer's numbers (from his Yahoo Sports profile):

Career Passing Rushing Sacked
Year Team G   QBRat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/A Yds/G TD Int   Rush Yds Yds/G Avg TD   S
2009 Connecticut (8-5) 8   72.4 116 218 53.2 1461 6.7 182.6 10 9   17 -28 -3.5 -1.5 0   7

He missed/didn't play in five games in the middle of the season, then came back to either start against Rutgers or relieve Endres early in the game (46 pass attempts for Frazer to 9 for Endres), and subsequently started the rest of the way (including a lackluster effort in the Papajohns.com Bowl against USC-East).
