Two Affiliate Tailgates Today

With the golf course closed and an entire day to kill I wanted to make you guys aware of a couple of affiliate tailgates today. Unfortunately Demorest's won't be one of them--he had to cancel for family reasons.

1. Tailgate for Frank

MGoBlog reader Carson McClean had a son Frank born the same month as my son Ryan. One afternoon last spring Frank was a bit off so they took him to the pediatrician, who could find nothing wrong. The next morning Frank went down for a nap and didn’t wake up. The explanation was "Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood" which is not an explanation so much as a catch-all term for the lack of one.

Carson is on campus this afternoon, holding a tailgate for Jack at 828 Brown Street (a block and a half north of the north end zone) trying to get the word out about SUDC, because this happens to several hundred families a year and we know so little about that pediatricians (and I know a few) would have all done the same thing. Also this is a member of our community going through the absolute worst thing right now. They're taking donations toward research on SUDC but even if you just want to swing by and grab a flyer, it'd be a help and a comfort.

2. MGoBBQ's Tailgate

As we mentioned on the pod last night, Joe Pichey, who writes the MGoBBQ articles on this site, has his smoker up here and has been grilling pork butts and brisket all night. He's in the gray lot behind the Revelli Building. Just look for this guy and this smoker.
