Today's Schedule of Games

College Football + Fans: A match made in heaven.

Wow, today is like a smorgasbord where you have been thinking about the prime rib all day, your plate is filled to overflowing, and you still haven't gotten to that station yet. I don't think I have ever seen an opening weekend with so many meaningful "November" matchups.

At noon: Michigan - Western Michigan. After watching Ohio State and MSU play already this much is clear: It does not matter what your defense does or does not do, your offense has to score points. A lot of points. Will we finally see speed in space? Will we see play calling that does not look randomly-generated? Will we let our playmakers make plays? Don't hold back the game plan for next week, get that offense some reps. Get it polished now.

Also at noon: Penn State at Wisconsin. I'm a Big Ten West fan today. I would have liked to see Bucky schedule this as a night game, but I still think they pull it off against PSU.

At 3:30: Alabama - Miami. This game has been getting a lot of hype, but I don't see it. The tide will roll.

Also at 3:30: Indiana - Iowa. What strange times we live in. This is a meaningful game with Big Ten East implications, and it includes Indiana. I'm legitimately glad it is at Kinnick as a difference maker.

At 4:30, I'm quite curious about Louisiana - Texas. Texas can make a lot of noise moving money and conferences around, but can that grossly underachieving program do anything on the actual field? I think today still looks ugly.

At 7:30, the big one: Georgia - Clemson in Charlotte. This is a College Football Playoff Game that got its directions wrong and wound up on the wrong end of the season. And we get to benefit. I'm going with Georgia here. You don't just seamlessly replace Trevor Lawrence at Clemson.

At 8:00, for the ten of you that get the PAC 12 network: Montana - Washington could be worth a drop in look to scout for next week.

At 8:30: LSU - UCLA. There may not be many more of these matchups of SEC teams on the road against top OOC teams in the future, so enjoy it now. Go fighting Charbonnet's!

I get it that it was over UConn but I'm really interested to see what that Fresno State - Oregon game looks like today. Fresno State beat the breaks off of UConn last week. Their QB is no joke.

Oregon State - Purdue is also a sneaky good game.

Go Blue!

I think you have a misperception about Michigan’s offense. Most would LOVE it if the play calling seemed random. It’s when it’s predictable, repetitive, uncreative and ineffective that we hate.
