Thomas Gordon.

...has changed his mind in regards to his change of plans. He is indeed announcing on Friday. It's between us and MSU.

I think our chances are still pretty good, but from what I've read it sounds like this kid is good friends with William Campbell, and they've said they'd like to play together in college.  When he said he's jump at a Michigan offer, that was when Will Campbell was a Michigan verbal commit.  "Playing with Will" and "Playing at Michigan" are not the same, and although the latter probably holds more weight, I think the former is more important to him than we thought.  Could be a reason for his sudden lack of enthusiasm for us.  Pure speculation.

That said, I still think we land him.  He has favored us before and he plays a position of need.  Also, if he commits here, that certainly ups our chances for getting Campbell back.

Rivals said last week that Gordon is torn between UM and MSU. I really believe that Tom Markowski was on to something when he said MSU is now a player for William Campbell. If that is, indeed, the case, than it only makes since that Gordon would be giving serious consideration to MSU. We shouldn't underestimate what Dantonio and his staff have been able to accomplish recruiting wise in this state. The high school coaches in the area love the guy.

FWIW, Rivals recruiting guy basically mocked the last poster that asked if Campbell was going to MSU. He said that the view of these two as a package detail has much more to do with Gordon being influenced by Campbell than vice-versa. The simple fact is that the only school that has offered Gordon that is on Campbell's list is Michigan.

I would then have to assume that a Gordon committ means we still have a reasonable shot at Campbell.  If Gordon goes to Sparty then I have to believe that he knows that Campbell is out-of-state-bound.

he'll commit to us. big will isn't considering state.. and that's according to him. in an interview a little back he basically laughed at the idea of going to state. gordon will be at mich b/c if he truly wants to play with will at the next level, the only school he has a shot of that at is at michigan. and i still believe big will is going to be at michigan next year. he's opened up his recruitment but that by no means is a solid indicator of him not committing to us. he's just taking looks elsewhere and getting a couple free trips for it.

He is a three-star, albeit a low one.  However, this is his first year at safety, he was a QB last year (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this) and safety is where M is recruiting him.  MSU and UM coaches were at Cass Tech's first game, and after seeing him play safety, they both offered.  I think that's a good indicator he's pretty solid, since both teams already have good recruiting classes going.

Since it is his first season starting at this position, he is a guy, like Teric his teammate, who could go up in the rankings once the gurus se him play.  He's rated low because they haven't had anything to grade him on until recently

3-star on Rivals.

He texted Josh Helmholdt, who is Michigan's recruiting correspondent on Rivals, to "announce" that he's making his decision again. So...all signs point to "yes".
