We need to keep the jug - the original college football trophy!  We don't play Minnesota again until 2023.  Let's keep it warm and safe in Schembechler Hall for another 3 years.  Paul gets thirsty, and he likes to have his favorite water jug available at all times.

His son used to be on our team... until he transferred to a new school... which is our rival school... we had a head coaching change.

Knowing that Mike Gillette played for the St.Joe Bears, is that where his son started out?

I met Gillette once several years after his football career was over, he was a new car salesman at the time at a SJ/BH area car dealership.  And his brother Kevin was involved in local politics in that area, I believe as a county commissioner.

Ahh, ok.  He transferred to the Lakeshore Lancers.

And now I know who you coach for.  I have a granddaughter at Upton, so maybe I'll get to Dickinson Stadium for a game sometime.  I took her to an early-season game there last fall.

The 19th century was crucial, when —

• "democracy" flipped from a radical idea to normal (and our current arguments started about what it means),

• regular entertainment for everyone emerged, and

• organized sports began to get organized.

I know it's not Michigan football related but I will always associate #19 with Steve Yzerman. Pro sports in Detroit is a wasteland these days but those 90s Red Wings teams were great times.
