There Are...

There are only 38 more days until Michigan Basketball is back! I had a tough time finding someone with the number 38.

So instead I have included a picture of the 1976 team due to the absurd amount of afros (9!!!) on the team. This had to be the most stylish team in Michigan Basketball history.

This team won the B1G, only lost 4 games, and made an Elite Eight run. It had to be because of the hair.

Tom Jorgensen! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Jorgensen

Craig Ross wrote about him years ago when he passed away. Jorgy was the other star on and the captain of the Ron Kramer teams, the Mr. Outside to Kramer's Mr. Inside. He was later a Michigan assistant coach and then the head coach of NIU: https://www.daily-chronicle.com/2013/11/30/former-niu-basketball-coach-jorgensen-passes-away/apzkdfu/

Fun fact: you had trouble finding a number 38 because college basketball doesn’t allow digits of 6, 7, 8, and 9 to be on jerseys. SB Nation did a video about this (link above). The reason being it allows refs to signal specific players to the score table using only their fingers (i.e. holding up five fingers for player wearing #5).
