I too find all the realignment posts to be pointless.  I don't need to know what person X thinks the revised 2024 B1G schedule should be.  I don't need to know where someone's mom would rank Washington and Oregon in the current power structure.  Absolutely meaningless posts that push down useful information.  I wish there was a rule against posts like that.  Mods could delete them and let us peruse some meaningful content.

Also I'm more than a bit miffed my own post about the recent Detroit Lions training camp scrimmage was moved off the front page about 30 minutes after I posted it!  If you feel so inclined to have a look: https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-more-lions-content-team-scrimmage-after-2-weeks-camp

I hear you, matty blue. (edit @2:10: you too, NotADuck)

Sometimes it's best, though, to allow a little more leeway the first 24 hours in the aftermath of a major story, to let this run its course.  Tomorrow, though, I'll be quite a bit more inclined to weed out redundant threads and 'HaWt TaKeS'.

Until the next round of expansion.

rob f, I'm not sure if you have direct contact with Seth, but if you do, could you ask him why the number of points required to create a post hasn't been raised?  That alone would cut at least fifty percent of the chaff.

Of course Seth, if you're reading this, I'd like to pose the question directly to you.

Make it at least a thousand points to post something and I guarantee the quality of the board would improve.

I've long been in favor of raising the threshold to at least 500 (if not even higher).  But even though there's been a few threads and numerous individual posts over the years in favor of such a change, it's yet to happen for some reason.  Obviously it's a Brian/Seth level decision, and in light of Seth currently having his plate pretty full, I'm not going to reach out to him on it at the moment.

hey, I submitted a lot of meaningless drivel on Friday Posbangs to get above 101 so I then could post what I considered content slightly more meaningful than typical WD fair.

Now I write a bunch of stuff, never hit save , tell my hot takes to my daughter, or text xm or robf and none of you get to here my blather.  People do learn…

Yes, but its not just one person that needs to learn.  It's thousands.  And its extremely difficult to educate thousands of people on message board etiquette, especially indirectly.  Better to let them learn over a longer period of time than allowing them to post almost immediately after making an account.
