There are...
...days until Joe O'Donnell (OG 1959-1963) supports his Wolverines in spirit as they kick off a NICE season against East Carolina on September 2nd at Michigan Stadium!

Go Blue.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of #69's senior captain season, in which he also served as the punter — and famously scored a 50-yard touchdown off an uncalled fake in the season opener. That game is below...
Thanks to College Football Historian. As always, enjoy!
What a treat.
1963? Are you sure time goes back that far? Or is that another legend & lore kinda thing, some old-timey fiction?
Let's ask Craig Ross.
Thanks
At what time is the fake punt and TD?

The SMU HC is Hayden Fry
A shame considering the greatness of the game it represents, today's watch gets my vote for being one of the more tacky in the whole series. Given to the Michigan players who traveled to Miami for the 2000 Orange Bowl:
Why is the picture from the year 2000 just as grainy and off-color as one from the 80s? You'd think technology would have improved the quality.
I don't think the original image was very large; I suspect it was a small part of a larger image. They also appear to have blown it up, which would magnify any grain or noise in the original. Furthermore, this is likely to be a scan of a physical image, probably in a magazine, and not a terribly good one, so we're probably seeing grain from the paper as well as grain or noise from the photo.
There's only so much you can do to clean up a shitty original.
Nice
Fun fact. 69 is a banned number in the NBA. Dennis rodman I think was the last to wear it
For a league known for letting its players express themselves and have personality, that is an incredibly boring thing to do.
Dick Hill, 1956 Michigan team MVP, is clearly thinking about Michigan's national title chances this year - just look at that daydream-y smirk!
Woooooaaaa.
The game sure has changed in the last 60 years. 🤪
69 days. Nice
