Thank You Blake Corum

I feel bad for Blake. He’s played his heart out all year and is on the cusp of a trip to New York for his efforts. Will be interesting to see how that goes now with him hurt, Hooker out, and Stroud playing for a team that couldn’t even win it’s division. Regardless, I feel for him that he couldn’t push through it today. He looked so frustrated at first, but then seemed to embrace whatever leadership role he could take as the game progressed.

Great to see him smiling and encouraging teammates in the 2nd half. Was awesome that the coaches thought to put him back on the field for victory formation. Hopefully he’s good to go for the CFP, but that had to be tough to stay on the sidelines during such an emotional game. Thankful that other leaders stepped up, but am also thankful for his role out of the spotlight for this game.

Hopefully he’s 100% ready to go for the CFP. You get him and a healthy Edwards back there, along with a McCarthy who is starting to come into his own, then they can win the whole damn thing.

Reggie Bush, on the pregame, said he suffered a similar injury to Corum and it shelved him for 2-3 weeks. So barring any set back, he should be back by the CFP. Provided we take care of business next week.

Was definitely amazing that Blake could take the field for victory formation! The team stepped up for their brother who played a big part in getting them to this point in the season 〽️

Mr. Corum:

You are one of the finest examples of a Michigan Wolverine in my lifetime. A superior athlete on the field, an exemplary leader on and off it, and a true gentleman in life. Generous with your time, and a consummate teammate, you are an embodiement of what it means to be a Michigan man.

Thanks for everything thus far. As today, we've got your back next week. Heal up for the CFP run and make yourself even more of a legend.

Frodo got the ring 99% of the way to Mt. Doom but needed some help from Sam (and unwittingly Gollum*) to complete the quest.  That he couldn’t finish the quest in the end doesn’t take away the thousands of miles he carried the ring to get to that point.  So it was with Blake Corum.  We’re not 11-0 without him.

* Also, Gollum is totally a Buckeye
