Telluride: M v Hawaii Game Meetup
Some of us alumnae are attending the Telluride film fest over Labor Day. There will be a small group in town watching the Hawaii game together at the Brown Dog, former Wolverine football player Jeff Smokevitch's award-winning pizza pub: http://www.browndogpizza.com/
Please join us in camaraderie as we root for our favorite team. I'm buying some Detroit-style pizzas and perhaps, just meh-bee, a round or so of drinks. Hope to see you mountain and film types then and there.
Go Blue!

Have a great time. Telluride Film Festival is super fun. My second favorite film fest next to Sundance (mostly because the slopes are open - powder during the day and movies at night, with a hot tub in between).
And Detroit style pizza blows away Chicago style (which is more like pizza-quiche). But New York style is the tops.

The San Juans are far and away the most spectacular mountains in Colorado and Telluride is the finest mountain town amongst them. Snow last night over here in the Front Range! Them nights getting chilly...

Or are everyone's nerves and tensions at the breaking point in anticipation of the off-season finally being over? Is that why no one can stop bitching and arguing?
There are like 4 different arguments happening in this thread at the same time (i.e., current state of Telluride, best type of pizza, semantics related to the size of a group, the validity of this type of thread in general). I gotta say, this off-season was particularly exhausting and I CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT SATURDAY!

Well, to be fair, the pizza debate is infinite and shall continue to the end of days. Some dufus and his bimbette were handing out $1 off coupons (gee, thanks!) at City Park in Denver during the free jazz series earlier this summer. The latter stated, "We're going to be featuring Chicago-Detroit style pizza." My cartoon bubble was like, "Well which is it? Because they're quite different." Ugh, a pizza town this is not. At least there's Fat Sully's.

Don't you know you are only allowed to invite people to a game watch party if it's somewhere crappy and close by, preferably in a poor neighborhood?
It's not like we root for an elite university where people are highly educated and successful in life.
Oh, wait . . .

Telluride is really nice, especially this time of year.
Sent the info to my sister, who lives down the hill (the mountain, really) from Telluride. She'll be jazzed to hear about this.

Contact the local tourism bureau. Perhaps they can assist you. Do not have pizza at the Brown Dog. There is nothing to be seen there. Besides, why would you watch TV when you have all of those mountains to play on?

People leave Michigan so they don't have to eat the Detroit style pizza! Chicago style is mucho preferred!

I drove part of it coming from Ouray a bunch of years ago but my wife got so wigged out about the dropoffs that she made me turn around before we got very far.
Spent an afternoon in Telluride and there were a ton of dogs running around loose, and everybody seemed pretty fine with it. Very relaxed atmosphere.
