Nobody knows the full story (because part of it involves Lloyd Carr, and he'll never talk about it), so we only know Ginn's side of it. It stems from the 2005 season where Pierre Woods (Glenville grad) was randomly in LC's doghouse. Ginn said something to the effect of, "Our relationship with Michigan is dead, but Lloyd Carr is the one who killed it."
For the record, it's been reported that RR and Ginn ARE speaking, and any ill feelings Ginn had with Michigan left with Carr. But the fact remains, Ginn is an Ohio State fan and is basically an OSU booster, and will always try to steer his kids to Columbus.

Ginn is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Ohio state honk - the only thing he cared more about than Tarblooders and OSU foorball was his boy making the big time (which is why he made sure that Jr was not going back into the NC game against UF).
I'm sure kids at Glenville desipite the fact that they are obviously being steered towards OSU look at the success other Glenville kids had at OSU vs. UM. What is more enticing for a HS kid - seeing a Heisman winner and a first round pick excel at OSU or seeing a talented senior benched at UM?

Well that's just nature of the beast and Ginn helping to build the Glenville pipeline to Columbus. Ginn Junior and Troy Smith were obvious successes for OSU, but there are guys like Jamario O'Neal and Robert Rose who were big time guys out of high school and are now second stringers at OSU (with O'Neal hanging on by a thread because of off-field transgressions).
You have to figure somewhere down the line a Glenville kid will blaze his own trail and pick Michigan. At first glance it would make sense with Marcus Hall this year considering OSU's depth chart on the OL, but I'm not holding my breath.
