Reel #2 was nice. Pretty much every play starting at the 4:20 mark you can really see how accurate Tate is passing. Hitting his receivers in stride. I like the quick passing game.

Tate is already enrolled and practicing. I'd prefer to see videos of how's he is doing against college athlethes in practices. What he did in high school doesn't matter anymore. We'll see come spring game.

Of course they all make the prospect look like a God, but they do give an idea of what he was able to do in competition against his peer group. Some guys "predict," and some don't. But the HS vids are still fun. As for practice video, why on earth would RR give WMU a competitive advantage in the opener or ND an advantage in the second game by letting any cats out of the bag that he doesn't have to?

1) I highly doubt videos of the QBs throwing simple pass patterns to WRs is going to give away anything. 2) Teams are just going to stack the box until we can prove we have a vertical passing game, and we'll most likely be starting a true freshman at QB. I'm pretty sure that our offense will be run-heavy for the first few games until the QBs get up and going.

I don't think the offense will be any more run oriented the first game than it will the rest of the season. I think we will see a lot of the quick passing game. I also think we will see some vertical passing. Doesn't have to be 30-40 yds, but something 15 yds over the middle, anything to keep the LBs and secondary from loading the box. I think we are all going to be surprised at this offense in September.

You might see Forcier line up at the QB position on a few 4th downs when they are around the opponents 30-45yd line just to see what the defense gives them...then either run a play or punt it. He did it several times at WVU

Cons: * Short * tends to underthrow the deep balls. range looked to max out at about 55 yards in the air * No break away speed (he's not pat white, arrgh! jk) * doesn't have a running back's leg strength, can't really run through ankle tackles. * likes to hold the ball out near the endzone * holds the ball too long on too many plays * doesn't wrap up when tackling * didn't show much feel for the option pitch (but didn't have many opportunities either) * wasn't always hitting the flare RB in stride Pros: * Decent acceleration * good at picking his way through the line of scrimmage * good vision * very accurate on mid range slants and curls * decent ball handling, playaction fakes * good pocket presence, scrambles under control keeping the pass option available * good at finding the open man when scrambling * Tight sprials * quick throwing motion, not really a big wind up * knows to throw the back line pass high so its either a TD or incomplete * can punt * more importantly, can fake punt * uses his blockers well, can string QB offtackle play all the way back against the grain to the outside. should be a significant upgrade over sheridan. but doesn't have pat white's speed, or vince young's size, or a very big cannon. With our backs and receivers, i'd be pretty happy with a 65% comp. percentage which he looks fully capable of. and he'll run the read option for a decent 5-8 yard average. don't see many long runs in his future at the college level. but maybe.

"doesn't wrap up when tackling" Probably don't have to worry about that one ;) Although, it is pretty funny watching Tate at CB. You can't just lower your shoulder like that! Everyone seems to be pretty high on Tate's arm strength from what I've read, so that's probably the only thing I'm not sure I agree with you on, even after watching the film.
