Tailgating at The Big House

Submitted by Big_H on

Alright guys and gals let's talk tailgating one more time.

Wondering what the tailgating hot spots are around the stadium?

Where do you like to set up camp?

Where is most reasonable? Easy access? Affordable entry?

I know a lot of people love the Golf Course, but will it be open tomorrow? Might rain.

I have tailgated in the golf course a few times and really enjoy being there, but what time does it open tomorrow morning??

Or Ann Arbor Golf & Outing I suppose.

If you're looking for a sort of a large scene than those two or Pioneer are the largest areas. If you're looking for a place to just set up your own I'd recommend just parking on someone's lawn on State St over by Field Hockey or the practice facility.

You know, I've probably walked by on a few occasions but didn't stop at it, but I might have to do that if I have a moment between trying to keep my son out of trouble and everything else if it is indeed an open invite. If I make it, I promise not to moderate posts in person, of course.

Free shots, and in addition we can share old war stories about the goings on in the Romulus Middle School!!  Stop by anytime, as we are in the same spot every week, and even if we weren't you only need to spot the Jager flag to locate us!

Edit: LSA, can you take away my accidental self upvote on this post?

I think that once the vote is recorded, it's not editable, or at least that was my understanding of the interface. Actually, I thought Brian removed the self-upvote thing soon after the old system was restored, so if you did that yourself, something is definitely amiss with the permissions around here (don't let that get out though *looks around secret informant style*)

My stories of Romulus Middle School are a bit limited to many of the staff being longtime family friends (I went to school in Northville and Saline), but I know many of them well and we can definitely talk about some of those folks all the same.

Honestly, some of our best tailgates were just parking on a student's lawn. We're a pretty fun group for older folks (relative to college age, although I suppose it's getting harder to pull off) so we usually end up merging with whatever tailgating action is already going on at where ever we end up parked. Flip cup is the universal social lubricant. Just look for a festive bunch advertising parking. It's usually cheaper that way too.

was nervous it wouldn't be as festive but now I'm glad we have the pass with the rain in the forecast. Anyone that wants to feel free to drop by.
