Sunday Sunny Afternoon Rhymin' Time - MGoBlog Not-A-Sonnet 1020*

Submitted by chatster on
A dreary day at The Big House, with fans feeling tense,
As they wondered when U-M might play good defense.
While it seemed fairly easy for the offense to score,
Each time Indiana would come back for more.
Some fans feared a high-scoring loss in the cards;
But Gallon broke records for pass-catching yards.
And though a couple of fumbles put U-M in a hole,
Devin Gardner came through and took over control.
And right when the defense was in need of a fix,
Thomas Gordon arose and came up with two picks.
Many people got wet, but few fans were bored,
‘Cause they saw that a hundred and ten points were scored.
There’s still work to do after records were shattered.
But Michigan won!  Isn’t that’s all that mattered?

* Don’t call it a limerick; don’t call it a sonnet.
Don’t call it a tweet or a twerk or a twahnet.
Don’t call it a poem, even though it might rhyme.
Just don’t call it Shirley when you call it this time.

Blah, blah, blah...man from Nantucket...something about his cartoonish anatomy...disgusting self-gratification habits...yada, yada, yada...trust your E.N.T. doc; don't put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow. Sorry, I realize none of that rhymed.

We don't even know it.  I kid, I kid.

I would contribute more to this post, but my brain hasn't woken up yet.

Should I eat breakfast, or break up a sweat?

Still happy that Michigan won, that we passed on first down,

didn't want to be bitching again, about that play calling ass-clown.

That might be a little harsh, perhaps it's not entirely his choice,

but for now I shall be happy, we all should rejoice.

I can handle the taunting, each slur and each curse
For expressing some thoughts while I'm writing in verse.
But for those who don’t get these or wish I were dead.
From now on, I’ll post these in some other thread.

I may be here all season.  Try the veal,  Don’t forget to tip your server.  And stay away from the brown acid.

Apologies to the moderators for clogging the thread stream.

The mods won't take down anything that is creative.  People don't have to click or read.  I like these.  Do extended takes on each game and post them in the Diaries.  The board is made for haterz.  Diaries are made for this sort of posting.

I've thought about writing verse but it's not like Haiku.  Good verse is hard work.  That is the reason people don't respond in kind, not because they don't like it.

I can't think of a better subject.  Let it flow.
