stadium parking

Submitted by mgoblue7 on
I'm coming in for the first time to Michigan Stadium on Saturday. Wondering what parking will be like with the anticipated rain. Will the golf courses be closed for parking? What time will the lots open? and finally best spot to park to tailgate? thanks rain or shine I can't wait to visit Michigan Stadium.

Pioneer is good but I think it costs like $30. Come early b/c it fills up fast especially for early games. Lots of grilling, tailgate games, playing catch, beer thirty (shotgunning every half hour w/ Michigan Mike), etc.

So you might want to go for Golf Course, any of the houses off of Berkeley Ave (right off Main St), or the car wash / CVS / other lots on South Industrial if you want to tailgate. If you just want to park, hit one of the student house lots on / just off State St south of Schembechler Hall and then cut across the field hockey field into the Crisler lot (be aware you need to walk over the traintracks so there might be some mud)

Will the golf course be open, with the rain. Since it says "weather permitting". And I am guess tailgating starts at 6 a.m. that seems to be the one time I keep seeing

I really doubt the golf course will be open if the AA weather has been anything like it's been in Chicago this week (and it usually is similar). I'd have a backup plan to the golf course for sure. Car wash on S. Industrial is a good option for tailgating after it's been raining because you'll be in a parking lot instead of mud.

Didn't know where else to put this, but I now have two extra tickets for the Northwestern game if anyone is in need. Sec. 43, one in row 24 and the other seat in row 29. If anyone is interested you can email me at jillerrn at g mail dot com.
