Spring game parking/tailgating

Submitted by mlGOBLUE on March 31st, 2023 at 9:24 AM

Been to many a spring game, but have never tried to tailgate. Does anyone know if we are allowed to set up at Pioneer? If not, any ideas? The rain is supposed to stop around noon, so a nice window there for some fun before the 3:00 game.

I believe I saw information that Michigan parking near the stadium would be "free" and without cost.   This does NOT include Pioneer - as others have noted.

I believe you can purchase parking passes at Pioneer in advance.  I don't know if the advance purchase is a requirement, or suggestion.

What about the east lot between Chrisler and the railroad tracks?  That's always free for Hockey games, and you can put a few people there before it fills up.  I've never found parking to be an issue for a spring game, but then I don't think I've ever seen more than 20,000 actual people at one.

I have tailgated at spring games in the past. The lots around the stadium are free (except pioneer) but they fill up fast. Will be interesting tomorrow with the pregame event at Crisler.

I went to a baseball game at Fisher Stadium last year on April 1.

Let me just warn you that all available free street parking east of State Street will be taken, and a lot of it west of State too.  The baseball lot was full, street parking was nearly full, it was a huge mess.  Fortunately there is no baseball or softball on April 1, but still...expect parking to be more difficult than a typical April Saturday.
