Sponsor Note: Official Unofficial Watch Party at Regents Field (the Bar)

Submitted by Seth on October 12th, 2019 at 12:00 PM

My friends (and longtime readers/HTTV backers) recently got their bar open--Regent's Field on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor--and I was going to try to come down there to watch the Illinois game tomorrow, since they also convinced me not to go to Champaign. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome.

This is the bar (at the site of old Cafe Felix) where we tried to have Football Eve, but they ran into some issues getting open in time for that. We went there again with the Sklar Brothers after their show a few weeks ago. Zack Novak, Zoltan Mesko, and Rick Leach's son are part-owners; my friend Jacqui used to run the New York alumni association. Anyway it seems to be a good fit for our crowd (historical, good food and beer selection, not super loud, free skee ball). Jamie Morris has been doing his pod from there.

Will definitely have to check this place out although probably not tomorrow.

additional plug:  Cheesecakerie at Briarwood, the owner has appeared on Jamie's show.  Cheesecake is a splurge and as such, should be microscopically excellent.  This is.

So we went last week.  Has potential.  Excited to have a true sports bar in town that isn’t BW3.

Some suggestions if your friends are reading this thread.

they advertise as a sports and cocktail bar-but didn’t have a cocktail menu, which is odd, particularly for Ann Arbor.  I get that they can still make most anything, but I found that weird I definitely would have ordered one

I understand a food menu being small at the beginning-keeping it simple   I do hope they expand it though-mostly in the area of appetizer type stuff to nibble on while watching games   The nachos were good and certainly didn’t skimp on chicken.

I didn’t like the tables   I know that sounds ridiculous, but they reminded me of something found in a work lunch room.  That plus the light paint just didn’t say “sports bar” to me

All that being said, I think there is great potential and we will definitely go back   Thanks to them for being sponsors!

(please tell me there will be audio for Michigan games?)

Hey MottNP, yes we read the threads. We're excited to bring a true sports bar to A2 that isnt Bdubs.  Appreciate the feedback, will be sure to discuss with the team. 100%, there will be audio for ALL michigan games as well as sports audio for any game people want to see when michigan isn't playing. Cocktail menu debuting soon, we wanted to get a feel for what types of cocktails people were looking for to design the cocktail menu around.  Also some fun things coming like darts league, brewskee ball league, a sports confessional....
