SHOWDOWN: #1 Michigan vs #2 Oklahoma - women's gymnastics, airing now on ESPN2
Title says it all...
Just tuned in after the hockey game. Looks like a good crowd.
Lots of energy for both teams. Competing and having fun.
Looks to be close so far.
The bball women-folk are up 36-32 over Nebraska at halftime of the B1G tourney opener.
Oklahoma sticking every landing and M still just barely behind.
Heck of an effort, but just a little short. Oklahoma was really on.
Rough night for Michigan women's teams. Second-ranked gymnasts lose to top-ranked Oklahoma, 19th-ranked softball team loses to 10th-ranked Kentucky 9-2 after beating Kentucky 8-0 on Thursday. 10th-ranked basketball team loses 76-73 to unranked Nebraska*.
* Though the result may seem like an upset because the Huskers were seeded sixth in the Big Ten Tournament, they trounced the Wolverines 79-58 in Lincoln on January 4 in their only previous meeting this season. Tonight, they were 8 for 17 on threes while the Wolverines shot 3 for 12 from beyond the arc. Nebraska's also 24-7, 11-7 in Big Ten games and winners of seven of their past eight games. The Wolverines are 22-6, 13-4 in Big Ten games and losers of four of their past six games.
Time for the Michigan women's basketball team to regroup before the NCAA Tournament and hope that they can figure out what's been going wrong before the opening round that should be played in Ann Arbor, assuming that the Wolverines will be getting no worse than a 4-seed in their region.
The latest bracketology on ESPN as of 10:00 AM on March 4 had the Wolverines as a 2-seed in the Greensboro Region with Ole Miss (7-seed), Kansas (10-seed) and Holy Cross (15-seed) in the opening round in Ann Arbor.)
GO BLUE
Hey, Chatster... Just a nit, but UM was ranked #1 and Oklahoma #2 in gymnastics.
Michigan wasn't bad last night. 197.9 would've been enough to win most meet but OU was incredible. Michigan was F'd when OU nailed the beam rotation and were behind the 8 ball since then. At least it's better to have it happen in the regular season as opposed to the postseason
