He made all the possible plays in money time. Proud of Shea. Go blue always.
October 20th, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
According to ESPN his QBR was 54 for the game. Wouldn’t that be a record low even for Shea? QBR isn’t the only measure, but that’s not even close to “good” and certainly not “great” for yesterday’s game.
It’s too bad Bell didn’t hold onto the ball. All these players are good to great, they just need some deodorant. In the words of John Madden “Winning is the best deodorant!”

On the last play, my fiance was watching with me and she said "He should have threw it earlier, the guy was open" which he was.
He who hesitates is lost.
Shea Patterson is LOST.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:24 PM ^
It looked to me like he was found.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:30 PM ^
The play was a quick out to Nico. Shea gets off that read, eludes a rusher and throws a strike into the receivers chest in the end zone. Yet you rip him. Speaks for itself.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
Yeah the rusher going for his feet caused him to have to reset before throwing. He did everything he could possibly could have down the stretch.

Hope you don't get any tonight!
October 19th, 2019 at 11:53 PM ^
Already did.
BTW fools... If Shea did his job, he would have set his foot and fired the ball in to Bell when Bell was ready for it.
Instead he hesitated (which is typical Shea) and then threw it in late after Bell had the guy draped on him. Yes he dropped it...but if that throw was on time (which it was not, again typical Shea) then it was a TD on the hands.
Dont even get me started on the terrible INT.
Learn some football.
October 20th, 2019 at 12:18 AM ^
It's you who needs to learn football.
You said earlier that we should have Brandon Peter's over shea, which is just about one the dumbest ideas I've seen around here.
Shea actually had a good game tonight. It doesnt matter if he's not good.
But tonight he was.
October 20th, 2019 at 12:13 AM ^
Has your girlfriend ever played football? Lol. Bell was his third read. I guess she would have skipped right to him.
October 20th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
I think your fiancé should check down and look for her second option
October 19th, 2019 at 11:24 PM ^
Shea played with guts and ability. All our hats should be off to him tonight.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:24 PM ^
One bad throw, but other than that, you couldn’t have asked for anything else. Made great throws, handled the pressure, made some ballsy plays. He earned the right to remain the starter after tonight.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:25 PM ^
Shea gets blamed for every bad thing
Yet Harbaugh, the GENIUS, the Quarterback Guru of Quarterback Gurus has not coached him up
AND Harbaugh decided to change the offense this year--after what was a pretty good offensive season last year
Common denominator: Harbaugh is over rated
October 19th, 2019 at 11:25 PM ^
Agreed! If we can destroy him on here after a bad game, at least we need to man up and show him the love after he plays a good to great game! Thanks for balking out tonight Shea. Fuck Notre Dame!
October 20th, 2019 at 12:23 AM ^
Although Patterson looked betternin in the second half, he was Mr. Happy Feet in the first. I'm sorry but I'm not on the praise Patterson train.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:26 PM ^
Hes good when he shows pocket awareness and steps into his throws.
He probably was 50/50 on zone read plays which is way better than hes been all season.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:27 PM ^
Shea had a good game.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:27 PM ^
Shea played really well in the second half tonight. Played like a baller and gave everything he had. He extended the big 4th down play on the last drive on put the ball where it had to be caught. Very tough loss, but I feel better about them team after what I saw in the second half.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:27 PM ^
Cannot fault Shea or the team for effort. Michigan just don't have the overall talent that we said it does - dropped passes, inopportune penalties.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:28 PM ^
Except that he put us in a hole to begin with with happy feet and ill advised throws. This is a pattern where we come up short in comebacks after digging a huge hole
October 19th, 2019 at 11:43 PM ^
He made one ill-advised throw. And even that was partially on Charbonnet inexplicably tripping over his own feet when Shea began his throwing motion. And even that was partially on the FUCKING REF for calling a horrible OPI on Nico a few plays before that.
People say he played well in the second half. He honestly was good in the first half as well other than one play.
The fact that you're still hammering on him honestly just shows you're willing to blame Shea for whatever thing goes wrong.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:30 PM ^
Had a great game. Put it there for Bell to catch. I thought the whole team played gutsy mature football tonight. I enjoyed the game.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:30 PM ^
For as much vitriol as Shea has received this year, he should be recognized for the mental toughness that he (and the entire team) displayed tonight.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:46 PM ^
He played better but mental toughness has to also include staying in the pocket when your first read is covered.
She is on the team because he lost his job to Jordan Ta’amu at Ole Miss, look at his overall body of work. Yes, he played better but he will never be the QB that overachieves and puts a team on his back.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:30 PM ^
Good job Shea - you battled hard tonight.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
Had a great game. Put it there for Bell to catch. I thought the whole team played gutsy mature football tonight. I enjoyed the game. I regret what this blog has become, though. How can the owners just let people piss all over the place for hours on end Saturday nights? Zero pride. They've really let what was once quite a beautiful phenomenon collapse in a pile of bad ads that obscure the content, the place become drenched in endlessly repetitive loser weenie bile.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
Either Ped St is way over rated or we just made them look that way...
it's going to take a while for me to get over not leaving there with the win.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
He played one of his best games tonight. Whole team gave maximum effort. Hell of a thing to see. Sorry they didn't get the result the wanted but I'll be damned if they didn't give it their best. Good on you, shea.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:36 PM ^
He lost. D caff next
October 20th, 2019 at 12:02 AM ^
I feel like the people calling for D-Caff over Shea are the same (or would have been the same) people calling for Henson to play over Brady.
Does Shea have a hard time with reads sometimes? Sure, but his accuracy is light years better than Dylan’s right now. Dylan has great upside, but our receiving corps will get much more comfortable with the new offense if Shea is at QB than they would with Dylan.
October 20th, 2019 at 9:03 AM ^
‘Grass is greener,’ syndrome.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:43 PM ^
Are we appreciating Shea 1st half or 2nd? Cause 1st half did not deserve it.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:47 PM ^
1st half Shea was fine. The interception was on him for not seeing the defender, but also on Charbonnet for losing his footing. All that wouldn't have mattered if the bogus OPI wasn't called and we rightfully gained 50 yards.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:47 PM ^
Hell of a gutty game for Shea. Seems like he could take tonight and turn a corner into the rest of the season. The rest of the offense too; this was really the first time they started to look cohesive and they had a few things they could build on. Sucks they couldn't pull it out but it's nice to see improvement and effort.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:49 PM ^
Played his ass off. Props
October 20th, 2019 at 12:07 AM ^
Best game of the season for Shea. That pick after undertheowing Nico was bad. Those two plays he would like back. He still sucks on RPO and when to Keep. Still proud of him. Dude fought and made lots of plays. WRs and coaching let him down tonight.
October 20th, 2019 at 12:22 AM ^
Just can't. The best I have is thanks for not being the primary reason that we lost.
October 20th, 2019 at 12:26 AM ^
He played so shitty in the first half. People were begging for him to be benched. Second half was better. He found some moxie and made some plays. We thought we’d see that all season.
October 20th, 2019 at 1:31 AM ^
He had many, many awesome throws.
He played one hell of a game.
Big salute to Shea Patterson, true Wolverine.
Time to move on to the next game with high morale.
Go, Blue!
October 20th, 2019 at 7:24 AM ^
Why are we having appreciation threads for a QB who limits the offenses potential ?? It’s clear Harbaugh and Gattis know he doesn’t have the arm to get the ball downfield. He showed it on his lone deep pass that he under threw .. Opposing defenses don’t play us for deep passes they sit on short and intermediate route ... Yea he played hard and got us back in the game but he’s not th QB Michigan needs
October 20th, 2019 at 8:02 AM ^
Shea eats too much chicken!!!!!! Nervous ass.....
October 20th, 2019 at 9:53 AM ^
I concur! Shea made some plays last night, and he didn't let the offense wilt under the pressure of a large deficit. He made some great throws, and led the team tremendously in their comeback attempt. He showed heart, character, and a will to win that is deserving of being appreciated.
Good thread! We need to pat these young men on the back, sometimes. The critics are always vocal, so the positive vibers need to be vocal, as well.
October 20th, 2019 at 11:39 AM ^
Gutsy
October 20th, 2019 at 6:09 PM ^
He played a great game tonight. The haters should crawl back into their caves. We should all be proud of him and his teammates.
