Seating at Yost Question

Submitted by 805wolverine on October 13th, 2022 at 4:41 PM

Looking to attend my first game at Yost on Friday 10/28 against Western Michigan.  There are a bunch of reasonably-priced tickets currently available on Ticketiq; but since it is an old barn I imagine that sightlines in some seats aren't great and so I'm wondering where the best sections to sit are and which are the ones to avoid if possible.  Are the sections on the ends (10-13 and 23-29) ok?  I'm guessing sections 14-21 are student sections since no seats there are currently available?  Thanks for the help!

I would suggest Secs 10-13, because Michigan shoots at that goal in 1st and 3rd Periods, and Secs 23-29 go much further up (more rows) away from the action. If you do get sideline seats, avoid the last six rows as there are obstructed views.

Secs 10-13 emphatically seconded. Those sections are right near the hockey band and the student section, which are highlights of the Yost experience.

I usually sit low to medium in those sections and they're great views. Aside from the obstructed views 98xj noted I don't think there're too many bad seats in Yost.

IMHO Yost is the best UM sporting experience. Football is iconic, basketball is fun, but the energy of the band and the student section plus the fact that there're minimal/no commercial breaks make Yost hard to beat.

Thanks guys, this is super helpful.  10 looks like its tucked in the corner more, does that matter very much?  I assume 11 is preferable to 10?  What is low to medium in those sections?  Right now I see seats available from rows 9-16, but not sure the total number of rows in those sections.

I usher there and concur with what’s been said, 10 or 11 are fine . Sec . 8 is where the athletic department reserves a few rows so Harbaugh and son and some recruits have been there, but that’s after January. (He’s a little busy on Friday nights this time of year.

Q. 805 - do you need a place to stay? I was late to your post yesterday but I’ve been mulling around having an MGoBandB for years and you could be the guinea pig.
