Scouting Report: Andrew Brown

Submitted by Magnus on

I don't know how many of you have had a chance to watch video of Chesapeake (VA) Oscar Smith defensive tackle Andrew Brown, but it's pretty impressive.  He's one of the top few defensive tackles in the 2014 class, if not the best.  Michigan is on a long list of early favorites, but obviously there's a long way to go in his recruitment.  Anyway, this week's scouting report is on Brown, who would fit really well at 3-tech for Michigan.

His size and quick swim move are similar to great players in Miami's 4-3 with Jimmy Johnson.  [Unfortunately, his swagger/attitude also reminds me of them.]

While Mattison's 4-3 Under differs, the 4-3 Miami was lethal against multi-option offenses and seems like a counterbalance to Urban's "power spread".  It would also work well with our agile LBs.

His choosing UM seems like long odds.
