Same Old Spartans (we're still within 24 hrs)

I thought of this last night and just want to get it out before the 24 hrs is up! MSU is STILL letting convicts back on the team. MSU STILL nearly MSU'd the game, but they got lucky that Tate may have tried to do too much (whether he was trying to do too much or not, it was obviously an errant throw). If we were in the situation next year, or any of the next 3 years with Tate, he probably makes a good decision there. Yes, it's a Loss in the record books, and no I'm not talking about moral victories here, but MSU really got lucky in Overtime. They outplayed us for all but about 6 minutes in regulation but just like Same Old Sparty, they waited until the last 6 minutes to stop playing. They're not a new team with a new attitude. They are still a team with convicts who live for one game a year, get the lead in that game, and give it away at the end. But on to Iowa! A win next week puts us in a good spot to challenge for the Big 10!

Let's not rationalize it. We lost. Taking solace in the fact that Winston is an ex-con and that MSU lost the lead near the end is losing sight of the big picture: Michigan lost and we need to get better.

Yes we need to get better. We were dominated for 75% of the game. Yes the Spartans are indeed the SOS with a mini make over. The parallel I'd draw is Michigan as Winston Churchill and Sparty as Mrs. Braddock. I put their exchange below for those who are unfamiliar. “'You are drunk Sir Winston, you are disgustingly drunk. 'Yes, Mrs. Braddock, I am drunk. But you, Mrs. Braddock are ugly, and disgustingly fat. But, tomorrow morning, I, Winston Churchill will be sober.”

To be honest, I dislike Dantonio, because he is essentially a scumbag who likes to get in his jabs and lie to put an anti-UM spin on things. However, MSU won and for most of the game was controlling the game. The Spartan players played great and we came up a bit short when it mattered most. There is no need to say "Same Old Spartys" when they controlled most of the game. On to Iowa, I have a feeling we'll be in this game too and could pull off an upset.
