usually there are few pick up games down at Elbel or by the CCRB in the spring/summer.
Just so you know what you are getting into at Elbel, they play with a ball into recycle bins (obviously no goalies)
I played down there a lot and there are some good players but just wanted to let you know what type of roller hockey to expect.
that the total sports in wixom has leauges...
ice hockey is sooooooooo much better...................... if you have the choice play on ice.
There's a group of guys and students who play at Elbel field (where the band practices) almost every day of the week in the evenings.
They have a website to see who is playing (link).
if you just drove by and looked at the set up, irrigation tubing and the old AA recycling bins as goals, you would think it was just some shitty pick up game but I've stopped and watched and was really impressed with the skill level there.

from what all the guys there say, they used to get a solid amount of varsity guys out there to skate back in the day (90's), before the money got too ridiculous to risk getting hurt or something or other

I have played ice hockey my whole life and always hated roller hockey but since I started going to Elbel last summer I can't stop going back. The play is fast and the guys are really cool and welcoming to new players. I love the recycling bins and pipe boards. Check the sign-in website
I remember their always being roller hockey going on at that little rink next to the basketball/tennis courts near Palmer Field. I also saw a some students playing bicycle polo there once. Can't say I ever had enough confidence in my biking skills to try that, but it did look like fun.
Also, there is a University club roller hockey team that plays against OSU, MSU indoors in a league and fun stuff like that. Starts in the fall, check it out.
