I'm happy for Rob Renes. He went to my alma mater, West Ottawa High School, and probably had the most successful college career of any football player ever to come out of WOHS, and the fact that he attended Michigan and started as nose tackle on the national championship team makes him a local icon for high school football in this area.

My personal favorite WO chant: Black and White! Fight! Fight! Always got the fans pumped up and its one of those magical chants that works only in a sports context.

I hooked up with a girl from WO my freshman year. I lived in Markley, she is Stockwell. I invited her to my fraternity's 70's theme date party and the rest was pure magic. Ahhhhh, the memories.

Best part about Rob Renes? Perfectly fits into one of the variations of a safe-for-old farts chant. Rah rah ree! Kick em' in the knee! Rah rah Renes! Kick em' in... the other knee! I think the first version I heard was "Rah rah rass", but others include "ralls" "resticles" "ragina" etc.
