Roanoke Times Article - Frank Beamer - Team Behavior on the Road
How can you not love the guy? Discipline problems, no problem. Here is a bus ticket home. See you when we get back.
Haters in the comments, of course. Read at your own risk. There are some who claim he reserves the bus for non-starters.
I try to avoid comments, but I did look - here are a couple of jewels:
How is it that so many posters here aren’t Division 1 head football coaches? I mean… you guys obviously have all of the answers to ensure a 100% bowl win percentage and a fail-safe college kid behavior plan!
Some complain when we didn’t win, now a few complain when we do win. I believe some would complain if hung with a new rope.

Brings up an interesting question about what methods coach Hoke uses to maintain discipline.

Oh, yeah, Beamer the disciplinarian. Okie-dokie. The idea of reserving the bus for non-starters has some merit to it given the kid-glove way Marcus Vick was handled. Please note that the Roanoke Times's coverage of VT makes the Columbus Dispatch look like Buckeye-haters by comparison. Beamer has a way of being selective in his disciplinary tactics.

Drew Lane (who is a VTech alum) of Detroit's WRIF once said that he checked the offseason arrest records of the team to predict its record the following season. More arrests = better players = more wins.

Insightful, but sad if true.

I don't think so.

AFAIC our rules are the same. Even the marching band is held to this standard.
