Rivals Midseason All-America team
I realize this is a week old, but I don't recall seeing it posted here. I did see the SI midseason All-America team and that was a little bit disappointing for most people on this board, so I figure this might cheer you up:

An interesting thing:
- The "slow and boring" Big Ten has 7 players on the list, most of any conference. The BT players named are: QB Denard Robinson (UM), T Gabe Carimi (UW), G Joel Foreman (MSU), DE Ryan Kerrigan (Purdue), LB Greg Jones (MSU), CB Chimdi Chekwa (OSU), and P Anthony Santella (IL).

...deserves some run here.
Given the crap defense around him he still is dominant.

That is disappointing....
I also find it interesting that Jordon Todman made the list. Makes the UCONN more interesting given that we sort of contained him.
PS I know that he got over 100 yards for the game. He was just able to dominate. Call me a slappy, but the next three teams we play do not have anyone near that talent level at RB.....
Just sayin.....

Evan Royster and Mikel LeShoure are pretty damn good.

But my point is that they are not preceived to be as good as Jordon. In addition, I would take UCONN's O-Line over Illni and especially PSU. And both of those teams have crappy passing games just like UCONN. And UCONN was only able to score 10 points with 1 key turnover in the red zone.
All this means is that I would be thrilled to have our defense match that output over the next three games (giving up between 10-20 points only). Puts us in a very good position for each of those games.

If Todman is better than LeShore or Royster it isn't by much, regardless how those players might be "perceived."

Has Royster bounced back? I know he wasn't very impressive earlier in the season, which I kind of attributed to a bad OL and a lack of an effective passing game. But I remember hearing that Royster had a big motivation and S/C problem in the offseason and came into the season really out of shape and not fit to play. I have no idea if that's true, but I remember some commentators talking about it earlier in the year.

He had a pretty bad game vs. Illinois, but the Illini have a great run D. Those guys almost completely neutralized Edwin Baker and Le'Veon Bell of MSU in the first half.
Either way, Royster looks like he's lost a step compared to last year, but I still think he has a couple explosive games left in him.
Mikel LeShoure of IL looks like the real deal.

Disregard this post. I thought this was a repost of the SI one.

Edit: disregard this post too... I was replying right as you edited your post.

BOOM! Disregarded!

Good to see Denard on there, as little as it may mean. Also, Chekwa is definitely a good player, but he was exposed a little bit against Wisconsin (then again, who wasn't on the defensive side of the ball?). Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing him go up against our goes on the outside.
But yes, there is definitely some talent in the Big Ten, contrary to popular belief. The Big Ten is a good conference, and its only on its way up with Nebraska coming in next year. Competition is a good thing.

Very cool to have the All-America QB.
BTW, it's interesting that they have no TE, but have continued the odd custom of listing two tailbacks.

He's good, but I would have figured one of Bama's tailbacks would be there.
Also, Patrick Peterson for LSU is a stud.

We'll let the studfinder app be the judge of that.
