Purdue - Mich basketball rivaly?

Pat Forde is suggesting that the M-Purdue rivalry will be one of the ten best in 2009. My response: huh? Yes, there was the elbow to face, but I didn't notice much bad blood between fan bases afterward. If there's any top ten current rivalry in the nation featuring Michigan, I'd think it's with State.

Eh, there might be something there. The teams are very similar, we split home victories with them last year, and we'll both be at or near the top of the conference next year.
In fact, basketball games against Purdue will probably more important and more exciting than basketball games against Ohio State in the upcoming year.
That article was stupid for Pat Forde, which means that anyone with a functioning brain could come up with something more intelligent than that utter crap.
After reading the article, I've also concluded that Forde is stupid. Everyone has forgot about that elbow. Everyone. Nobody cares.
But I do think there will be some heated battles between up and the boilermakers.

Should be good games simply because both teams should be good, not anything to do with carryover from that accidental elbow.

He wrote an entirely different article on college football rivalries that are "hot for 2009". Now while he lists the OSU-Michigan rivalry at 7 which is reasonable for 2009, he lists other rivalries such as Washington-WSU as ones to watch. Last time I checked both those schools shared a combined 2 wins last season. I wouldn't even read the article, I just posted it for citation and reference.
I can see an assination plot in the near future against this fucktard. Really no college basketball game in bigger than UNC vs. Duke (I hate both and I still look forward to the game.)

Actually, I thought the article was remarkably insightful and refreshingly honest, mainly for its take on Maryland fans.
How on earth does Purdue get into two of the "top ten rivalries?"
I think some hookers in West Layfayette gave Forde a few too many freebies.
It's not just "two good teams who play each other". Honestly, Purdue's probably MSU's fourth rival, tops (MSU-Wisconsin has ten times the bad blood and recent history, and that didn't even get a mention).
And anyone who puts UNC-Duke somewhere below #1 has no freakin' clue.

They had multiple incidents, the Zach Novak incident at OSU was definitely flagrant. He was on the free throw line and threw it out. The Manny Harris was more debatable. I do think Michigan and Purdue will be squabbling to get behind MSU in the Big Ten. It will be a highly anticipated game. I saw John Beilein and Matt Painter and I don’t think there’s anything between them and I didn’t see them throwing out elbows at each other.”
