Predictions for the Illinois Game?

Submitted by Lordfoul on

Ok. no funny stuff this time.  I see Michigan's D giving up mostly field goals again in a bend-don't-break effort.  Our offense will put up just enough.  I see:

M-23

I-19

What do you all think, besides GO BLUE! of course.

so many field goals.
i think...i have no idea what to think. nobody knows which offense will show up. maybe we'll score 50 points...maybe we'll score 0 with 6 turnovers.
though i think we could hold illinois to less than 20 points

dependant on the number of turnovers given up by the offfense and not-so-special teams return units.  I think that will be fixed, and maybe the D will give up 1 big play leading or to or resulting in a TD.  Throw in a couple of FGs, Illinois gets about 13-16 points.

Michigan runs better and passes better than in the Wisconin game, and gets somewhere in the mid to high 20's.

I'm gonig pessimist for once.  Illinois' offense is good.  I would bet on them using a ND strategy of max protect and using 2 WR routes because Benn is that good.  I'd imagine they score a safe 21-27 points on us.  I think we're more likely to get 13-35.  So without running a Monte Carlo sim, I'll say:

Illinois 23
Michigan 16
