Michigan needs a coach in general....
Apparently, W. Johnson(5* CB) suggested his position coach was gone, so Zordich might be gone too. Like I said in a previous post if JH stays or goes will result in the same reaction from me. Finally. We need to know what's happening to move forward. Recruiting is suffering

The poster is referring to in-state 5-star CB Will Johnson. He was interviewed either today or yesterday and said that he is close to making a decision (committing) but is still taking a little more time. He (Johnson) referenced the fact that at Michigan, he does not know who the DC or his position coach will be since they both left. We all knew Brown had been fired, but Zordich was not a position coach many thought would be let go. Johnson has yet to commit to any school so M has not missed on any recruits yet from the 2022 cycle due to coaching changes.

It was the recruit saying he didn’t know who his position coach would be, inferring Zordich is gone. I posted the link but was banned for it ?. Source was a quote from rivals.

I thought with that one recruit switching to UCLA made it clear Nua was gone, but I figured that wouldv'e been announced. Maybe there's a bunch of pending staff changes that'll go once JH decides what he is doing.

Sam believes Coach Moore is safe. I would also put Coach Warinner in the safe boat as well. Not sure on the rest of the crew.

Nua can go. He hasn't recruited and the line was abysmal.
Larry Johnson's don't grow on trees but we need a series upgrade in both categories.
Zordich is another story. Not a great recruiter but a really good coach. Green had a remarkable turn around this year.

Wasn't Dan Mullen reported to being open to NFL offers? Maybe the kid doesn't want to play for a PSU rival and is interested in a warm winter(s). *shrugs*

We all knew Harbaugh was going to wait on signing something until the NFL makes their decisions, but it's now public knowledge. And that makes it especially bad - the entire world knows he doesn't want to be in Ann Arbor for whatever reason. The actual reason(s) don't matter. Both he and Warde need to get off their asses and get something done. Either make a lovefest extension signing, or mutually agree to part ways. This 'twisting in the wind' BS is going to cause more near-term harm than can be overcome if he remains...

We are truly failing when it comes to the portal right now as a direct result of not having a DC and HC that has not signed an extension. Makes perfect sense.

This specific player isn’t exactly an example of that. He stated he wanted to go somewhere where he could win a championship. Which, if I’m a player in the portal, doesn’t describe Michigan right now. Based on his stated desires, Michigan was never a factor.

Seems like players entering the portal fall into 2 categories:
- Encouraged to enter portal and destination uncertain
- Contact with potential destinations through back channels prior to entering portal

I'm not as "concerned" about Harbaugh's public announcement of what his contract status is as most others are. I remember his public statements saying he's "all in with Michigan" and "I'll let my actions do the talking". The "fans" not knowing what the details of his contract isn't really a concern. Choosing to ignore what has been said in public, and focus on what hasn't been "confirmed" in public is what this board does. Just something more to bitch about. For all we know....the contract is almost done, and is in the hands of the lawyers. All the decisions have been made, and moves are being made, in the background. Only he and Warde know the real situation.
HOWEVER, not letting the recruits know what direction they are going in is a little bit disappointing. These are teenagers, and teenagers make impulsive decisions. Angering them by "ignoring texts" or "keeping them in the dark" is not a good move. Regardless if they tell the public....they should tell the recruits.
It has been reported that Zordich was the main connection between the two 5 star CB recruits, in the next class. That they have a relationship with him. Not only is he a very very good position coach, but he's the reason two 5 stars are looking at us (yes, I know that one is also a legacy, but he's publicly stated that Zordich is a big draw for him). Getting rid of him would be stupid, but if they are keeping him and not telling the recruits....that's equally stupid. ?♂️

Was told he was not a character fit for Michigan. The fact that he went to Florida should tell you what you need to know. Mullen is getting UF close to Ole Urban days in that regard.

Michigan football is cursed. This is THE year (in the Harbaugh era, anyway) that we need the most help from the portal on defense, and it's also a year where no-strings transfers are being allowed. But wait, we have bumbling fools involved in staff changes, so we don't take advantage of it.
Not just terrible, but really turrible.
