Philip Brabbs' Cancer Kicker Facebook page

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

The fuck cancer post got me thinking about Phil earlier because I lost my mother to same type of cancer that Phil beat.  I thought the board might like to check in with Phil so here is a link to his facebook dedicated to kicking cancer in the ass.

Brabbs also wrote an interesting blog entry here -

http://mmfordummies.blogspot.com/

His November 29th entry talks basically about how certain things are indeed larger than sports or rivals. More specifically, it is about his visit to Ohio State's medical center to see a myeloma specialist and he has a very positive review of both the physician that he saw and the facility in general. This and the other entries are definitely worth a read if you are interested in his updates on his battle with multiple myeloma.

Thanks for the link.

While everybody remebers him for the kick against Washington the other play that sticks out for me is one of his kicks, I dont remeber who it was against or exactly what the play resulted in but it was a kickoff and I dont remember if he recovered the kick or if he just made a huge hit but it was inside the 10 and there was no way he should have been down there. I remeber asking "WHO WAS THAT" and freaking out when I realized it was the kicker. Never forgot his name after that play.

That was against Illinois in Champaign. The Illini returner fumbled the ball falling forward at the 20, the ball bounced right in front of Brabbs which he scooped up and returned to the 1 yard line. Three chances from the 1 and we couldn't punch it in, so Brabbs kicks the field goal. We were up 42-13 at that point so settling for a field goal wasn't the end of the world. Love getting the updates about Brabbs and his health. He's handled everything a hell of a lot better than I would have.
