PFF College 101: The 101 best players in college football in 2022
PFF came out with a list of their top 100 football players from the 2022 season. I know PFF has its problems and not everyone is fond if its grading, but I thought it would be interesting to share anyway.
Two of the three Wolverines that made the cut will be returning next year!
From the article:
2. RB BLAKE CORUM, MICHIGAN WOLVERINES
While Williams brought home the coveted stiff-arm trophy, there’s a serious case to be made that Corum deserved the award. His 95.9 grade was the fourth-best PFF’s seen from a Power Five player since we began charting college football in 2014.
34. C OLUSEGUN OLUWATIMI, MICHIGAN WOLVERINES
Oluwatimi won the Outland Trophy this season as the best interior lineman in college football. The Virginia transfer earned an 83.0 run-blocking grade — a top-five mark in the country among centers. He also didn’t allow a sack all season.
56. CB WILL JOHNSON, MICHIGAN WOLVERINES
Johnson was a top-20 recruit coming out of high school and showed this past season that he should’ve been rated even higher. The true freshman earned a 91.1 grade in man coverage to lead all Power Five cornerbacks, and his three interceptions in man tied for seventh in the country.

I hope they do find it before it ends up in the wrong hands. At least his name isn't on the side of it, though 😊

Getting inside PFF's top 60 is quite an achievement for Will Johnson. Can't wait to see him tell opposing #1 receivers to GTFO next year.

Give him offensive snaps and realize the prophecy!

I don't really have a problem with Robinson winning the Doak Walker award even if a big feather in his cap was basically Texas having a mediocre offensive line and him dodging tackles, but Corum somehow didn't win that award, finish particularly high in the Heisman, AND lost Big 10 offensive player of the year award to C.J. Stroud, who at no point this year looked like a particularly great player or carried his team to anything resembling outsized success unless "almost beating Georgia" is your criteria.

CJ Stroud is weird man. He throws such a good football good reads and all that, but when it comes to it looks like a pro player in a family picnic game, not really trying to get hurt out there
