Pat White isn't allowed to play baseball because he isn't actually White

This is from a post at AOL Fanhouse, http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2008/07/30/heisman-candidate-suggests-….

The money quote is pasted below - Pat White has been drafted by MLB teams before, and someone asked him at Big East media day why he doesn't play both at WVU, to which he responds:

Asked if he had spoken directly with Van Zant about playing for him, White said: "(No), he wasn't (excited). He wasn't interested."

Then he paused and added:

"In my knowledge of West Virginia baseball, there's not been many players of my race on his team. He's not too high on it.

"Every player I've talked to doesn't like him. He's not a well-liked coach but I guess he has tenure so they never got rid of him. They're not successful at all."

Asked if he might have played if there were a different baseball coach at West Virginia, White said, "Maybe."

I love the idea of trying to play small ball and protect a 2 run lead in college baseball, where I'm shocked when a team doesn't score 10 runs in one inning at least once a game.

Honestly, it almost reads to me like White has heard about how shitty he is from other athletes, experienced it himself, and figured the best way to get him fired would be taking it in his own hands. Doesn't seem like something anyone would just blurt out without a good reason, but who knows.

how Pat White knows this guy is a racist without ever talking to him. He could be right, but he also formed an opinion of someone with out actually speaking to them.

Does it give a little more credence to what Calvin said about his chances of becoming the head coach there given the tone of the athletic program? Hmmm. I'm just sayin'
