Pairwise Scenarios

Submitted by redwings8831 on

Priceless over at USCHO has done some quality analysis of many different scenarios of what can happen over the next two weekends leading up to the NCAA Hockey Tournament. The links provide a team by team anaylsis of the current top 8 in the pairwise. Michigan's is:

Michigan (#3-#11) Losses this weekend and a rash of upsets in other conferences could knock Michigan all the way down to 11th. Either Denver or Minn-Duluth would finish #12 and only one can win the WCHA. While playing with Michigan scenarios, I was able to raise Miami, Duluth and UNH into the last #1 seed, depending on their conference outcomes. Because Michigan's NC schedule included UNH, CC, UNO, Minnesota and Wisconsin there is a great deal of fluctuation in the COp component.

Most likely: #4

There is also some information about us in the other teams anaylsis:

Can't comment to that specifically, but after this weekend's slate of games, USCHO will put up a Pairwise Predictor, where you can select who will win the semifinal, finals, and consolation games in the conference tournaments. There currently is something like that out there, but you have to write in your own script and it takes more effort than it's worth considering the number of possibilities remaining.
