Yup. Those two.
Probably whichever 5 stars Alabama puts out this season, and possibly Georgia. Supposedly those are also strong spots for ND, though I don't know if the second part of each pair is as good.
No way for ND - Love and Crawford don't come close to Hill and Long. Love is pretty good, Crawford I'm not convinced is anything more than a little zone baiter, like Countess was here. Make him man up against a serious WR and he's nothing special.
We will see come September 1st wont we.
Maybe. Depends if they decide to put Crawford in man.
But if they can keep him in zone and let him do what Countess did at Auburn, wouldn't that be just fine for them? If they don't play man, it doesn't really matter if he's not a man CB does it?
Obviously, but "just fine for them" and "close to as good as Michigan's CB pair" are vastly different things.
2 michigan kids may be starting at DE for ND (kareem and hayes) which is pretty interesting
I hope me make those two Michigan kids regret going to ND that night.
Hayes is the interesting one to me. Michigan saw him multiple times, he was highly rated, right in their backyard, and they basically said no thanks.
Shitbend should even be on this list at all. To hell with Notre Dame.
Clemson probably has the deepest D line in the country followed by UofM, BLOsu.
UofM CB’s are really good. I like them allot.
DEs Bosa & Young at OSU
DEs Ferrell & Bryant at Clemson
As for CBs, I truly don't know. Maybe whoever starts across from Damon Arnette at OSU or whoever starts across from Greedy Williams at LSU. Whoever starts across from Levonta Taylor at FSU? I don't know that any other school has two bonafide dudes like we do at CB.
I'd have to say the only secondary that compares would be washington's
I know they have a good safety, but they were 26th in S&P Passing D last year. That statistic is not entirely on the secondary, but it would be a huge leap for them to get up by us this year. The two schools that outperformed us in that category were Auburn and Clemson. Clemson lost some dudes in their secondary but returns Trayvon Mullen who is very good. Auburn lost second round pick Carlton Davis for sure.
Clemson allegedly has the best DL in the country, so maybe theirs. Also probably OSU because of course.
Clemson. Their entire starting DL from last year spurned going to the NFL to come back for another shot at a title. They all would've been drafted. In some cases extremely high up. Clemson is the lone team in America with a DL I can definitively say is better than Michigan's, although OSU and Alabama can make arguments for that as well. OSU's DL isn't as deep this year as it was last year, but Bosa and Young are right up there with being the best 1-2 punch for DE.
Corners I'm not really sure. Bama is tempting to say but they lost their entire secondary from last year, including 2 backups. So they're going to be trotting some true freshmen out there who will make mistakes. OSU maybe, given their track record for the last few years, although I don't really know who they're going to have back there aside from Damon Arnette. I'd bet LSU is in the mix too because they seem to always churn out great DBs.
Clemson's Dline consists of possibly 4 1st rounders
Probably nobody in the Big 12 is my guess.
It was still fun to watch Okoronkwo feast on OSU last year.
Clemson.
Clemson has 6 defenders in the top 53 picks in Walter's mock for 2019. They include 3 of 4 D linemen in the first, a corner in the 1st, and a LB in the first. Their 2nd DE is 53rd. Their 2nd Corner is one of 2 players, both with some experience and both top 100 recruits.
I think we've got 1st round and 3rd round DEs, maybe a 1st round LB, and some 2-4th round corners.
Washington's CBs might have the better season in terms of stats/recognition if nobody throws at Vert or Long again.
DEs? No-body.
Gary and Winovich are the only returning P5 to record at least 50 QB pressures each last season.
I can't embed the PFF twitter post.
nobody
While they dont have the DEs...Washington has some killer corners as well. Which pains me to say so much..go Cougs
Nick Bosa & Chase Young. The BTN guys were very impressed with Young and he certainly looks the part.
Nebraska’s are not as good at either spot but they will hit hard.
