Other offers for our 2010 QB Prospects

According to this article: http://www.freep.com/article/20090218/SPORTS06/90217090/1054/Five+quart… Christian Green has received early offers from top schools such as USC, Miami (Fl.) and FSU among others. Are they all offering him at QB (I doubt USC is...)? Devin Gardner on the other hand seems like he's been on the cusp of receiving the top offers (Ohio State and USC... wasn't Pete Carroll at his basketball game?), but the teams have decided not to pull the trigger for some reason or another. Granted he's offered at ND and LSU, and he's gotten a lot of mid-tier Big Ten offers, but the fact that not everybody is jumping at this kid (at least enough to think that some other player is worth OFFERING more than he is) as early as they seem to be jumping at Green has me concerned. What do Tressel and Carroll, in my opinion 2 of the 4 best coaches in college football, see that we don't?

Tressel sees Nick Montana. Pete doesn't seem to put out unless he thinks he can bag the guy.(see william campbell) Maybe he didn't think he could pull DG out to the west coast. Who knows?

No offer from those schools does not necessarily mean they wouldn't give them a scholarship, but they may see/hear that the player has too many other teams above them to waste precious recruiting time.
