OT: Temple beats #10 Kansas 77-52

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Uh.....okay, so this kind of got lost in the shuffle yesterday.

Did anyone else know about this game?

Temple led 35-25 at half and outscored KU 42-27 in the second half.

What a weird year so far in college basketball.

When Michigan lost to NJIT, I said here that the difference between a top ten team and a bottom team isn't all that great anymore for one game.  I also said I thought there would be a lot more "upsets" this season.

Basketball isn't a game where the team that pushes the other one up and down the court always wins.  Putting the ball in the basket is never guaranteed to run true to form.  One team can get hot and another cold.  Basketball seems to be a sport that is made for upsets.  That's part of why so many people love the NCAA Tournament so much.

The showed the number of Sixer's wins this year vs. Temple in the same areana. Not good!

Will the Sixer's make the NCAA tourney this year or will they go to the NIT?

... to ClarkiefromCanada.  If I'm remembering correctly, he's a Temple alum.

P.S.  NJIT is beating 'Nova in the second half right now (yes, I'm trying to (reverse?) jinx them), so Michigan's loss is looking a little less flukey.

I'm not convinced that we "suck" just yet either. Three of our five losses could have easily gone the other way, on of those being against a Top 10 team. The other two... There's no shame in losing to #3 and undefeated Arizona, and SMU is 8-3, so not just a pushover. There's still plenty of opportunity to make noise in a Big Ten that appears to be Wisconsin, and everybody else... And round into an 8-12 seed tourney bracket buster. We're playing a bunch of Freshman and Sophomores outside of Spike. Johnny B Good will round this team into form.
