OT - Talking Cars Tuesday - Bring that back
Late on the thread, my mistake. Forgot that it's Tuesday.
Anyway - what cars don't you see anymore that you think would sell like hotcakes? Reach in the wayback machine, because if someone says "The Ford Taurus" because you would buy one - you should, but you're the only one. Plus, Ford now sells an Edge to the family that used to buy a fullsize sedan.
So - why doesn't company X make vehicle Y? and why is yours a great choice?
Surprised sedans in general are declining cause SUVs are pricey as hell.
Oh and Ford should have never stopped making the Crown Vic Grand Marquis Town Car panther platform vehicles!
I feel like I have a slam dunk answer here. What's the biggest trend in cars? Add some black plastic around the wheels, make it looks off-roady and BAM people buy them!
Subaru makes the Impreza, a wonderful little hatch
No one buys them. Everyone buys the Crossstrek.
Thus, I give you an automatic sales bonanza - Porsche bring back the 911 Safari:
Imprezza's ground clearance from that pic is not Imprezzave
Buick GNX
The Regal GS has some performance chops
Why won't Dodge just fully embrace low sales figures and make a convertible Challenger?
This is in the grand scheme of not understanding why so many people suck and won't buy a convertible so as to make the manufacture and sale of convertibles more profitable, thus increasing the models available with a drop top.
I think convertibles are ~1% of the market now. So, I'll go another direction - Why doesn't Dodge just do T-Tops? Make them standard rather than an option. Body color or blacked out. If people want a coupe, they can just leave them in. And boom, now anyone who wants T-Tops can get them without a fuss.
I have had 4 Taurus SEL's and have been extremely pleased with each. I totally understand that the sales of the Taurus and Implala have tanked and you cannot support a platform with 30 k vehicles. I have never had a vechile not from the B1G 3 but it will happen next year. I don't like it but I wish to drive a sedan. I have had 13 Cadillacs and don't need a Caddy know. What alternative do I have.

I always loved British roadsters. So many on the dearly departed list. So, convertibles are a niche market. Still, I'd love me one of these...with modern electronics. Behold the Triumph TR6.
My brother had one. It was fun to drive and far superior to the crappy MGB of the same era
The Miata and 124 Spider don't tickle your fancy the way that the Brits do?
I like the new Miata. That's the closest thing on the market. The Alfa 124 Spider is meh at best. I bought my wife a 2001 BMW Z3 which is nice and in the ball park, but...it's still not a TR6 I lusted for at the age of 16.
I'm a mazda guy, but for some reason, I like the Fiata better than the Miata. The headlights just aren't right on the latest Miata.
I'd love to see a Mazdaspeed Miata though. Love to see 200- 250 hp in that platform.
The Bronco is already coming back, but the designs I have seen are uninspiring...
So bring back the Bronco XLT!!
Mercedes CL600. Love the full size coupe.
I'd buy these bodies on new chassis:
'55 T-Bird
'57 Nomad as a slightly smaller awd Crossover
70's Datsun sized pickup
'59 Chevy Impala downsized slightly
Jag XK 140
Jag XKE
The 2002 Thunderbird sold so well it's first year, over 31K! Then it didn't sell 31K total over the rest of its life until 2005.
The 2002 T-Bird was just too much of a poser car. It was anything but sporty.
Pontiac, as an entity, should be brought back. Affordable, sporty, fun, reasonably well engineered cars.
Oldsmobile Cutlass/442.
Bring them back as a modern muscle car.
Yes I’m aware Oldsmobile doesn’t exist anymore.
Well, Tesla does make vehicle Y. And vehicle X.
I absolutely LOVE my model X. 100D. It's simply the best car I've ever owned. I really hope Michigan changes the bullshit dealer laws preventing sales of Telsa's in the state. I live in Florida and my car is charged with my solar panels, so yeah. I burn no fuel, no coal, no oil, no gas.
When I was a student in Engineering at UM (CE), I always thought it would be cool to work on the solar car. Now I have one. And it goes 0-60 in 4.4 secs. If you have a chance, give Telsa a test drive. You may never drive a dinosaur burner again.
I drove one but unfortunately I need one that does serious off-roading in western mountains, plus I need excellent towing capacity. Maybe I drove a bad copy but the build quality was terrible. Picked up a used Touareg for under $30k that tows 8,000 lbs, does serious off-roading and has a range of 700 miles +, which I need out west.
‘64 Pontiac GTO
VW Squareback
‘65 Buick Riviera
’51 Mercury
Now that Alfa Romeo has returned to the US, they should bring back the GTV-6. It was the first car I ever loved. I can see it in today's market as a hot hatch with Italian lineage.

So, different cars require a different volume of oil. Personally, I am reading about Lucas 10001 and I should say that it offers beneficial proposals. Now I want to buy it but I don't know how my car would react. I hope everything will be okay
