OT: Talkin' 'bout coaches salaries, here's what Weis is makin'
I was sorta suprised that Charlie decided to leave the NFL to go back to college ball but that just says a lot about how he actually enjoy college ball more so than the pros, imho.
And he's getting paid pretty well to be the OC at Florida. Now it's time to see if he's a better OC than a HC at the college level

Weis' eldest son (I think? Daughter maybe...) just enrolled at Florida too; I'm thinking he went there more for that than the money.

You think he moved there and took the job so his son could get a University of Florida education? Really?
And it wasn't me who negged you, not that it matters.
February 26th, 2011 at 1:45 PM ^
No, I think he went there because his kid was already headed there.
Think about it: you have the power to still compete at a high level, still get paid big bucks, and be around family that you have probably had to spend wayyyy too much time away from. It makes a lot of sense.
Edit: There's more to the story. His son has a job with Muschamp. Link.

So yea, he went to Florida to be able to work with his son (now an unpaid assistant for Muschamp) on a daily basis while still being able to do his job.
Good deal if you ask me.

That kid is going to have an interesting time in college.

Plus a signing bonus ?, A car provided for him ?, Does it come with a pre-paid gas card or a UF credit card ?. His offense looked pretty pathetic against the Ravens D in the playoffs. Oops sorry that was Greg Mattison & co.

Is TE not going to be a position of emphasis in Muschamp's system?
February 26th, 2011 at 5:15 PM ^
Shit if Charlie Weis can get 10k a year for wearing nike gear, I should be worth at least 25k
February 26th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
Are you 2.5X the size of Charlie Weis?
If so, please see a doctor.
February 28th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
Charlie Weis is twice the size of a billboard and seen by 50 times as many people I would say that is the least Nike could do for the guy.
February 26th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
Do you work for the Palm Beach Post? Just give us the details dude, we don't need a teaser and a link.
February 26th, 2011 at 12:52 PM ^
Yeah, screw crediting the source.
February 26th, 2011 at 2:26 PM ^
But, he could have at least put Charlie's salary in the OP.
February 26th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
No, I agree with that. I probably should've toned down the snark a bit.

As someone who teaches at a college, and who watches adjunct faculty have to teach six classes to make $20,000 a year, this bugs me just a little bit...

Among any number of other reasons to leave the Chiefs for the Gators, Weis has a daughter with fairly significant developmental problems. I suspect (and would like to believe) that he went back to college in part because the NFL demands too much time away from family.
February 26th, 2011 at 2:38 PM ^
Suckers!!!
They could've paid him in doughnuts.
February 26th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
Nobody ever pays me in doughnuts :(

I hear Ohio State's looking for a few good academic tutors. And they have cream-filled.

Does he get anything from the FUPA society of america?

There used to be a couple of American buffet-style restaurants in Gainesville, but they closed down and there are now none, according to Google. Coincidence? I think not.
