OT: Streaming PSA: Disney+ free for Verizon customers

Submitted by Hotel Putingrad on November 17th, 2019 at 9:43 PM

Found out tonight that Disney+ is free for the first 12 months for Verizon customers who have unlimited data plans (and only $6.99/month after that).

This is a pretty good deal if you have kids and/or are a Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, or National Geographic fan.

To sign up, just go to your My Verizon account and then look under Add-on Settings/Entertainment.

Must have the unlimited plan though.  I went to try this Friday but we have a different Verizon plan - no dice.

There is another deal that bundles Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ together for less than $10/month that might be a good alternative.

Disney plus has been a lot of fun. Watch Perri the squirrel from 1953.. live action squirrel drama.

Also if you want the kids coming into your bed room at 3am in the morning watch mr.boogedy !!

My friend works at verizon and my dad has had unlimited and a verizon account for 35 years or so and the disney + bullshit isnt working or even shows as an addon..

A lot of people need to be prepared for it to not work.  Verizon's having major issues with this and their customer service is awful about it too if you can ever get thru

FYI for people depending on which device you are streaming on. I went to watch Avengers Endgame on it yesterday and the app through my Samsung tv did not want to play it in 4K and HDR for some reason. Tried it on my xbox one x and it was playing in 4K and HDR fine. Never had an issue with Netflix 4K stuff through the TV app. So it seems like there is some bugs right now with 4K and HDR not working right on certain devices.
