I'm going to go ahead and own the fact that I will neg these random threads about soccer. The World Cup or the national team is one thing.

"Hey, there are some soccer games" today is something different. I don't see a reason to have thrice-weekly open threads about baseball and basketball, and those are more heavily followed here in the U.S.

Go ahead and start a baseball thread.  The difference is that soccer fans won't be coming into it to tell you how much baseball sucks, we simply have better things to do, than worry about a thread on mgoblog.  You might find like minded people who love that sport and it could be a great thread during the summer for you.

As much as I love the world cup and US mensNT, European club soccer is simply the superior version of the sport there is.  Like we all here say, if you don't like a thread you don't have to come on here and discuss.  Is it really ruining your day to the point that you feel like you need to make a comment on it???   Go and watch some more film of 15 year olds playing football, and get your rocks off there.

Agree. I've tried several number of times. I just can't. The style and level of play is so bad. If Detroit City went MLS id probably suck it up and get passionate about it.

But you still wouldn't watch other MLS games. I'm not picking on you - it's just the way it is. I love the timbers and watch all of their games but I never watch other MLS games for more than maybe 5 minutes as I am flipping around. Meanwhile I can watch any premier league game from start to finish. MLS is like college football if every game was like Vanderbilt-Tennessee or Iowa State - Missouri. But it's a lot better than it was even ten years ago and will continue to get better. It will never be Premier League quality but i think it will eventually be on par with League Un or Serie A. Need to stabilize the number of teams and not get so big that it continues to be watered down. They are saying maybe 32 teams and that would be impossible to have quality that deep especially if there are salary restrictions

I can't watch mls on tv. I used to make it to more games, but this past season I only went to 2 games. When Beckham was on the Galaxy I went to lots of games. Even though he was old there was nothing like watching that guy make those passes in person.

City on to the semis of the FA cup, Middlesboro were a total disgrace today and I hope they get relegated.  It looked like they were trying to hurt City players all game.  Hope Chelsea can dust off Man United on Monday!!
