(OT) Question for someone with computer knowledge

Submitted by Jim Harbaugh S… on

I've have some Michigan football torrents on my comp and I want to burn them to DVDs.

How do I go about doing this can anyone help and/ordirect me to a site that explains how to do this?

My comp has dvd burning capability that much I know.

what format are the files in? i would assume since they came from torrents they are probably in xvid format. the file should end in '.avi'.

how computer savvy would you say you are? i use a couple of tools to convert any video file to dvd. best tool for someone relatively new to the process would be this one:TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX® Authoring. it will accept most file formats, give you an easy way to create menus and includes a dvd burning tool.  it's $90 - but if you look other places 'wink wink' you might be able to find a way to get a full version for less than retail.

if you are a little more skilled - www.doom9.org and www.videohelp.com are great places to start - lots of guides and freeware to choose from.

You probably have a folder called video_ts with a bunch of .vob files in it. I use a program called Nero. I select "DVD video" from the startup menu, and drag and drop all the files in that DVD folder into new video_ts folder on the disk.

just make sure whatever program you use will accept .mov files. i think you should be able to mix & match which files you use to convert to dvd. depends on which program you use. i know the tmpgenc dvd author will work with .avi & .mov files.
