Title says it all. Semi-interesting development between both teams the day before the draft. Denver has been talked about quite a bit as a landing spot for a QB in this year's draft, and now they've got Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater on the roster. Hard to believe they'll draft a QB now unless they plan on dumping Drew Lock at some point in the near future. Might make sense while they let Bridgewater start for a year or two and then let the new guy take over.

As for Carolina, they've been a potential landing spot for a QB this year as well. I wonder if this means they're throwing their full weight behind reviving Sam Darnold's career.

Either way, hard not to root for Bridgewater throughout the rest of his career. Amazing to think this will be the fifth team he's played for since joining the league, and I think the fourth in the last four seasons.

One of my favorite disfunctional Browns stories is about Bridgewater.  Allegedly Joe Banner when he was GM of the Browns commissioned a company and paid them 200K to look at all the QBs in the 2014 draft and recommend which one the Browns should draft.  And again allegedly (although I 100% believe it) this firm overwhelmingly recommended Bridgewater.

On draft night in 14 Bridgewater started to fall and was still on the board at the #22 pick and the Browns made a trade to move back into the first round only to select........Johnny fucking Manziel instead of Bridgewater.  This apparently on the strong recommendation of a homeless guy our owner ran into that morning instead of the guy the 200K consultants recommended.

One of my favorite comments since signing Clowney was a Browns fan saying between OBJ and Clowney their 2014 draft is finally respectable.

Trey Wingo was on 92.3 this morning and told another great story from that draft.  Jerry Jones was going to draft that dipshit, his son had to sit him down and tell him no, we are not drafting Manziel.

Oh good, you're here.

Personally if Berry sits tight at 26 I just hope he picks the best available defender.  And if somebody he a has top 15 grade on slides to 20 I hope he packages one of our extra 3rd round picks and maybe a 6 or 7 and moves up to get him.

How freaking NICE is it though to really not care about the draft that much?  I mean I'll watch every pick because I'm emotionally invested but whoever they take wont impact our record much because we're already pretty stacked now across the board with talent.

Super Bowl, Super Browns.......YEAH.

My buddies and I were talking about this subject, and how weird it feels.  It's weird not having to care about it, it's even weirder having a GM I trust will do the right thing.  That Steelers helmet downtown has been getting abused all week, the photos are hilarious.

I'm sorry for the city, the weather could not be worse.  It would be better if it was snowing, at least you could walk around the city.

I think Denver still takes Lance at 9. Bridgewater isn't a long-term answer, and Fangio is not a fan of Lock, who's erratic on his best days.

As for Carolina, they haven't picked up Darnold's fifth year option, so I think it's safe to say they're not ruling anything out at 8.

This does put the Lions in a good spot should anybody wants to jump these  two teams. I still think they'll take Sewell if he's there at 7, but I also sense Holmes would really prefer to trade down.

If Lance is available at 9, I really wonder if the Lions might swoop in on him at 7? Goff is on a relatively short contract and could be restructured/dumped after a couple years I believe. Everyone is so afraid of them drafting a WR in the 1st round (given their history) but sooner or later someone is gonna have to catch the ball. I think this a moot point and he's probably gone by pick 5 anyways.

Also Bridgewater is getting dangerously close to "journeyman" status. This is probably his last year to prove he can still be a great starting QB.

Right, that's why I said they probably brought him in to be a guy who starts for a year before whoever the new guy is takes the reins.

Drew Lock definitely looks like the odd man out in this situation. I doubt Vic Fangio wants to hitch his future with the Broncos on betting on either of these guys as long-term solutions. Bridgewater is good enough to manage your offense until the new guy gets up to speed, but Drew Lock appears to be way too inconsistent. I think he's had a few really good games here and there, but not enough to justify keeping him around.

I like Bridgewater but he failed to lead the Panthers to any last minute victories with chances in eight games last year. He’s got solid accuracy, can run when needed and created one of the most efficient passing attacks last season. But in several opportunities now, he just hasn’t made the hurdle from dependable short-term leader to winning franchise quarterback. Still, sorry to see him leave the Panthers with only questionmark Sam Darnold at the helm surrounded by three not for long backups. Panthers get a sixth round pick for Bridgewater while paying most of his Bronco salary this season.
