OT: NFL Talk (non fantasy)

Submitted by MichiganFan1984 on

With the season starting Thursday I thought it would be interesting to see your predictions for the  NFL. I like the Pickems so I’m curious on what others think as far as who will be good this year.

Who is your pick to win each division.

In the AFC I’ll take New England, Pittsburgh, Kc and Tennessee to win their respective divisions.

In the NFC I’ll take Philly, Minnesota, Rams and Atlanta to win their respective divisions.

I’ll take Minnesota over Tennessee in the Super Bowl.

My sleepers from each conference I’ll say, Redskins in NFC and Bengals in AFC.

What do you guys think?

Happy Labor Day!

Pats, Steelers, Jags, Chargers and i can see Ravens and Broncos getting wildcards

Eagles, Vikings, Saints, Rams with wildcards being Packers and Falcons

Super Bowl Jags vs Rams proving defense wins Super Bowls and the Rams win it all

MVP of the season is a hot take shocker and a guy i cant stand...Kirk Cousins

Convince me the Chargers are not the least shitty AFC West team..KC has had a bad defense for years managed by minimal turnovers from ASmith, Mahomes is good but hes a young gunslinger and he throws 15+ INTs.

Oakland also stinks on defense and they have little to 1 weapon on offense behind an overrated OLine..I think the Broncos come out of the cellar to claim a WC spot.

Chargers have a revamped OLine, the best QB in the division with several weapons in KAllen, a sophmore jump from Mike Williams and a good ground game with Gordon and Ekeler..the defense gets after the QB with Ingram and Bosa and Derwin James shines.

Cousins will benefit from coach Zimmer who is an A+ coach..Stefon Diggs has a coming out party staying healthy and being the 2nd best route runner in the league, Cousins will be the QB with 30+ TDs on the #1 team in the NFL so he gets the default MVP due to nobody else lighting the league on fire.

Fantastic points.

The only things that would hold me back from completely agree are the following.

1. The Chargers by far have the worst head coach in that division. I weigh that heavily.

2. If Cousins were good enough to win an mvp I feel like the Redskins wouldn’t have let him get away. I also feel like Zimmerman is going to ask him to be more of a game manager because I think their defense will be very very good.

How do you feel about my sleepers?

Head coach is not a Chargers strong point but im not high on Vance and im also not a Gruden guy..I would rank them Andy Reid then a big gap, Gruden, Vance/Lynn.. But Rivers is the difference for me.

I can see the Redskins making a jump in that division mainly because i think its a weak division..Philly has Wentz and Alshon out to start, Dallas has holes all over the place, Giants i just think they are going to lose several close games.

I dont like the Titans..Vrabel is average, Mariota is ok, and the division is tough

The Bengals need the Oline to improve alot but they have some weapons..I like PIT and BAL in that division tho

Saints v packers NFC championship

Pats v Steelers AFC championship

Steelers v Saints super bowl

Saints Super bowl champs

Drew Brees retires on top

I see a lot of good teams with the chance to be great but I don’t see the Titans being one of them. Too many questions with Mariota.

Don’t know about the NFL as a whole but I think the Lions are in for a rough season and will be looking for a new HC and front office in three seasons
