OT: NFL OT Coin Toss
So I was reading John Clayton's mailbag and a guy had a nice take on a rule change for OT. He suggested that the coin toss from the pregame could count for OT. I always hate that whoever wins the coin toss in OT could just march down the field and kick a field goal for the win. With this system if a team is down by 1 after a touchdown and time is expiring and they know they won't get the ball in OT then they could go for the 2 point conversion instead.
I think that there should not be a coin toss predicating the winner. How about teams starting from the 40 (35 in college) so field goals require a first down or two. There wouldn't be clueless NFL players running around saying that they didn;t know OT existed...
multi-authored idea about first team to score 6 points wins.

rock paper sissors to see who gets the ball
and its 1, 2, throw
not 1, 2, 3, throw
+1 to 1, 2, throw. It seems like there are tons of people at Michigan with this bizarre "1, 2, 3, shoot" bullshit R-P-S cadence.

Or football could be like hockey and have a field goal kicking shootout.
