OT- NFL conference championships

Submitted by Dark Blue on
So who does everyone like next week. The Vikings and Saints and Colts looked really impressive in their wins, while the Jets defense is very strong. Personally I like The Saints to knock off the Vikings and the Colts to beat the Jets, setting up what could be a very entertaining Super Bowl. EDIT: Vikings, Saints, and Colts Sorry my grammar sucks today.

Jets rely on the run, just like the Ravens. The Colts showed they can stop the run against the ground-heavy Ravens. If you do that against the Jets, Sanchez isn't going to beat you through the air all game. Colts win easy.

I tracking right along with you on those picks. I was shocked the Jets shut down the Chargers today. Indy looks good and the Vikings tore up a VERY good Cowboys defense.

I'm going to have to go with Jets-Vikings. The Jets stole the mojo the Colts had going for them when they bitch slapped their fans in the face by choosing to pull their starters instead of going for an undefeated season. Also, this match up just screams Pats-Giants. The Jets will get to Manning, and keep it close until they make their move in the second half. The Vikings D-line will get to Brees often and early, throwing their passing out of rhythm. The Vikings will run their way to victory.

You're assuming the blitzes won't take him down before the throw. The Jets also are somewhat unique in that Manning will not be able to tell where the rush is coming from, and thus be able to direct his o-line where to block, because the Jets don't know which lanes they will hit until the ball is snapped and the play is under way. Not a Jets fan btw-actually I pretty much dislike them.

Even if that's the case, I expect the Colts to be able to outscore the Jets' offense with the way the Indy D looked yesterday. If they can shut down the run game like they did against Baltimore (somewhere around 80 yds rushing), I think the Colts D can get to Sanchez plenty. Also, Manning taking sacks isn't something that happens very often (averages less than one a game) and he's usually pretty good and hitting the hot route to Clark or Collie in the slot. I'll admit I'm extremely biased being born and raised in Indy, but we had the Jets beat IMO the last time until we laid down and put the 2nd (and 3rd) string in.

The Vikings did look impressive today, but I don't see the Saints offense being stopped and the Cowboys were over hyped and overrated. On the other side, I am very surprised by the Jets today, but I don't think they can compete with the Colts on either side of the ball. A Colts/Saints match up would be great to see.

I think we'll see Vikings/Colts. We have a somewhat repeat of Superbowl 3 next week with Jets/Colts, Colts prevail. I think the Vikings pull an upset over the Saints. I don't know what prompted a negging on a benign comment predicting the Superbowl contenders. Hopefully that took care of it.

I'm calling Jets and Vikings, really liked what both teams did today in their games. The Vikings carved up the Cowboys offense and defense, and I don't think the Saints have a good enough offensive line to get settled on offense. The Jets match up very well against the colts, who have an average-at-best run defense against an offensive line with two pro-bowlers. Manning also did not do too well when he played against the Jets a few weeks ago, and arguably, the Jets already shut down a better offense in the Chargers.

I think the Saints at home will pull through. Minnesota is an outstanding, complete team. I think at the Metrodome the Vikings would win, on the road they have struggled. I like the Jets defense to shut down the Colts weak running offense. The Jets d is alot better than the Ravens. Don't knock on Sanchez he's a good quarterback.
