The double standard is one topic. Another topic could be what is or isn't considered gay. Wrestling, posing naked and shooting video of you handling your junk under running water in a marble tiled shower, all for a gay porn site, seems pretty gay to me. Yet still he denies it.
with his arms raised in victory was hanging in my old wrestling room. It said "This could be you" on it. I believe it's taken down now (I haven't noticed). Crazy story. He transfered to another school and took 2nd in the nation this past season.
I told coach d. That he should take it down, wouldn't want the bad influence in there. I remember when he won his title, the palace went NUTS.
when our own wrestler (let's just call him Mr. X) did something similar? The first thing I did was tell some of the other wrestlers "Hey, maybe 'mr. x' took that sign seriously"
I think he's got a point about a double standard, but its a cultural one, NOT a university of Nebraska double standard. Sex is always way more scandalous than violence.
i don't know if him being gay is really that pertinent
Who cares whether what he's doing "seems gay" to you? What are you, 13?
Regardless, here's a tip: Sexuality is not nearly as bianary as you may think it is. Just because someone does something "gay" (even something sexual) does not mean that they are in fact homosexual.
the article made a point of mentioning it.
Second, it was supposed to be a little humor. Like how people (or maybe just my friends) say "its only gay if your balls touch" in jest.
Lighten up.
Whether he's gay or not doesn't matter, but it is interesting that a Nebraska parent was the one who forwarded the stuff to his coach. What were you doing on that website, Mr./Mrs. Husker?
Husking the corn no doubt.
good one.
