OT: Movember - Calling All Mo's! (Potential Interview with Movember Foundation)

Submitted by boliver46 on

Last fall, myself and a number of MGoBlog folks had a Movember Moustache drive for cancer research.

Apparently our group, MoGoBlue, attracted the attention of those directly at the Movember Foundation!  I was contacted by a representative who is interested in speaking with someone from the group:

As the official Moustache Pledge Master, a major part of my job is connecting with Mo Bros & Mo Sistas that have rocked out the Mo on campus, hearing their Movember story, and turning those into best practices to share with college Mo’s around the country! Hopefully your schedule isn’t too busy as the summer months arrive because, if you have a little bit of free time, I would love to hop on a quick call to get your story and thank you for helping us change the face of men’s health.

I am guessing they would prefer to connect to someone who has actually attended the University of Michigan - and not a "wannabe" founder.  I know our group was relatively small (~14 people) but I also know many others participated in their own groups.  Thought this would be a great opportunity to get U of M on the map and encourage other college groups to participate!

If anyone is interested in being a participant in discussing your Movember experiences as a UM Student or Alum - please let me know!  Please reply with your email address in the comments below.

Glad our efforts got some recognition on the way to raising money for cancer research!

GO BLUE!

I rocked my Mo around campus as part of the MGoBlog team and would be happy to talk about the experience... and creeped out looks I received. Email is gerlach.(first name, should be pretty obvious from my user name) at gmail.

We actually had about 250 people participate in this throughout the company as an effort launched by our Energize Your Life group, which does a lot of health awareness stuff for us. However, I had the double privilege of being part of that as well as part of the group that was announced here, so hopefully the moustache allowed for double the research, because, well, fuck cancer.
