Those two guys might be available for pick-up on waivers. I don't know how likely it is for the Tigers to get either guy, but both are pretty solid players. Just hope they don't go to a division rival.

Valverde was pulled off waivers afters someone made an offer. Apparently the Astros just wanted to test the waters. Also, I've heard Tejada has said he's willing to move to 3b if he can finish his career with Houston. I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay if that's the case.
That FoxSports article also says he still might be traded. I wouldn't be surprised. Valverde scares the crap out of me every night he pitches. He couldn't put away a 3 run lead last night without at least loading the bases first. (He did get the save eventually).

Tigers need Tejada! I assume his defense isn't as good as Everett's, but I'd rather have someone that can hit the ball out of the infield. Or stick him at third if he'll do that.

I'm an Astros fan and that's exactly how we felt when we traded for Tejada and sent Everett out. Tejada's defense is meh at best, but his hitting MORE than makes up for it. I swear the guy can't field a ground ball in front of himself.

So far, there has not really been any steroid use associated with the tigers, but that would change if Tejada came to town.
