OT: miss Nike away jerseys

Watchting this big ten icon on Woodson makes me miss the Nike road jerseys. Much better looking than the current iteration.

It's about 25 years old, size small. It's about 20 inches at the waist, but the shoulders fit shoulder pads so it's a weird fit. I'm saving it for my son. The year Harbaugh broke his arm was the worst season of my life (born in '70 at the start fo the Schembechler era) until, well, you know.

The simplicity of the pre-1997 road jerseys makes me wish that they could be sold as retro jerseys.  I also wish they would sell Ford/Harmon/Chappius/Wister/Kramer retro home jerseys (smaller numbers, long sleeves, no TV numbers, but everything else like today's) because I think you could move some very old school Michigan jerseys.

The 1997 Michigan home jersey has one of the coolest features of any Michigan home jersey, the embossed block M on the shoulders.  It could not be seen unless you were standing on top of it, but it was a neat look and I regret not getting a Woodson 2 that season.

As much as I would like to disagree, I will politely decline to do so, for knowing that if Michigan were still with Nike, they would have pushed, and pushed hard, for a Nike Pro Combat look this year and MIchigan would likely have some ridiculous costume that would nothing like Michigan in the name of increased revenue.  They would have pushed for a Maize jersey for a road game or some such.  So as much as I am not a huge fan of the adidas version of the road jersey at the moment, they at least seem mildly sane.
